Fashion Design Award Winner.
Awarded for Good Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design.
The collection unfolds a dual effect from War to Fashion. By researching the 'The internment of Japanese American’ children and Constructivism's sculptures, these inspire oversized silhouettes and geometric textures. Exploring digital printing, hand dying, and 3D innovative pattern-making techniques, the concept goes against the over-simplified garments in mass production. The collection developed a youthful, functional, geometrical aesthetic by referencing the western and Japanese wartime fashion, as well as the constructivism effect to fashion and artworks.
