In the heart of the dolomite alps, in a landscape which still is defined by agriculture, the small hamlet of Pliscia is situated. Most old farms there appear to be of pair-style type, consisting of a tenement and a stable at least. In this respect the two new buildings make no exception. Pedevilla Architects succeed in contrasting an old farm house archetype with a modern residence, while the chalet can be seen as modern interpretation of the former stable. The outer timber shell of the two buildings is kept consistently in black, a reference on the sun burned facades of the old farm houses.
