The design of The Screeners aims to bring a pleasing, simple and usable experience to movie review websites. Many websites of the same type have a confusing and cluttered layout and this obstructs the experience for the end user. The design of The Screeners puts the movies front and center and implements a simple, uncluttered and intuitive experience. Everything the regular visiting user will need can be found on every page in a simple manner and this is how it should be.

Interview with Liam Martens on The Screeners Movie Review Blog

What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
I clean UI that was not obstructive to let the movies come to their right.
How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
The Screeners has been a work in progress for over a year and we are still working on improving certain things.
What made you design this particular type of work?
My love for technology and the digital world is the main driver behind the type of work I do.
What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
Other movie review blogs are usually very obstructing and cumbersome to read. We want to bring movie reviews to everyone, not just those who are really interested in it.
How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
I honestly don't remember why we used this name, but it's what we started with and what we stuck with.
How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
Well I already have some experience with submitting my work to design galleries and they usually work.
