Extended Interview with Shin-Yi Lin

Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?
I was not a design majored student but I was encouraged by a professor who gave me a lot of faith in pursuing my dream of becoming a space designer and he recommended architecture tutorials in university to me before I went to London for further professional lessons.
What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?
A great designer designs a project that stayed classic as time goes by.
What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?
the light Church by Tadao Ando, the vocabulary in this project is so straight yet strong that makes it impossible to forget.
What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?
Obstacles never ends, turning them into a good design spot is the best way.
Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?
I shall be proud to say that every little piece in the space is hand picked by myself.
