Artist Decorating Studio was founded by Chun-Fang Mao in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Specializing in architectural design, interior design creation and construction management. The types of works include private villas, apartments, clubs, restaurants, clinics, hotels, office headquarters. Through our design, we provide different facial expressions for the space that shapes each place. Incorporating design into life and creating a comfortable space under temperature, this is the principle we adhere to, creating unique and comfortable styles for owners and meeting functional requirements.

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
Engaged in the interior design industry for more than 25 years, currently teaching interior design related courses at university / Childhood interest development / yes
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
Fansworth House In 1951, Mies van der Rohe completed the epic work of his modernist ideal, Fansworth House, in the United States, and used "Less is More" to the fullest.
What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
Solid wood / can be used indoors and outdoors / requires a professional carpenter to use machine operation
When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
Meet the requirements of the owner and constantly check and correct
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
Cross-disciplinary and multicultural development / design to improve people's quality of life
When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
Respect each other and think empathy / view their past learning experience

Learn to bring nature into the internal space and transform its advantages
What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
include private villas, apartments, restaurants, hotels, office headquarters.
Can you describe a day in your life?
The first thing to get up is to drink a cup of tea in advance and then look at the cat at home, then go out to buy breakfast and then go to the studio, and finally busy busy contacting to arrange work, contacting the owner and reporting the progress.
Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
Have more time to participate in forums and travel arrangements / participate in international design competitions to learn more
From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
On the positive side, it has a better social image, while on the negative side, it is generally believed that the charges will be more expensive
What is your "golden rule" in design?
Provide a comfortable and practical life for the owners, improve the better service quality

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
I am currently the design director of a design studio and have more than 25 years of experience in the industry. I am also a lecturer in the design department of the university. The clients I serve include managers of listed companies in Taiwan.
How did you become a designer?
Currently is the design director of the design studio, and also serves as a lecturer in the design department of the university/After graduating from high school, I went to many professional design companies, and then developed a strong interest in interior design/The motivation to do good things through good design/Childhood interest development
Which emotions do you feel when designing?
When the work is about to be completed/The feeling of owning the final product or completing the project/Praised by the owner/The joy of helping owners realize their dreams
What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?
Oriental Lao Zhuang philosophy,The way of thinking of Lao Zhuang's philosophy has influenced the direction of thinking about exploring the essence of beauty; the second is that the philosophical methodology has a direct influence on the formation of the theory of artistic conception; the third is the aesthetic orientation of Chinese art/Still learning the mysteries of its use
What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?
Have more time to participate in forums and travel arrangements , participate in international design competitions to learn more
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
Self-reflection, continuous improvement, and modesty, the secret of successful design
What is your day to day look like?
Start at 9 am every day / arrange work after reading design news / read related design materials / take a coffee or tea break
How do you keep up with latest design trends? To what extent do design trends matter?
Collect relevant design art materials at any time / build a completely designed / integrated information / daily observation
