About Geometric Aesthetics Residential House
Geometric Aesthetics is a residential interior design for a 70 square meter home in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The plan provides three bedrooms, a living area and a dining area. A large television wall extends the living room, and the ceiling is raised so the shared space feels higher. Iron pieces form simple outlines, while square and circular shapes define the geometry. Stone and warm wood are combined with natural sunlight to create a calm mood. A retractable wall bed joins the reading and sleeping areas, and raised wooden floors add storage.

- Unique Properties
- In "Geometric aesthetics," we optimize the effect of space, rendering both functional and spatial senses. Thanks to the large scale of the TV wall, the living room space is thus extended. Further, the ceiling is raised as much as possible, so that the public space becomes higher as well. Moreover, the space is sculptured as integrated with the simple and neat outline of iron pieces, and outlined with the geometric elements of square and circle.

- Production Technology
- In the 21-ping interior space, the maximum space for utilization is created, including the use of a retractable wall bed, so as to combine the reading area and the sleeping area. Moreover, the wooden floors are raised to increase the storage in the room; and a spring-loaded tableboard makes the bar fit for flexible uses.
- Design Challenge
- In a space of only 21 pings, while creating three bedrooms and two rooms for living as well as dining, it not only meets the storage needs for the hostess, but also meets the needs for the magnanimity and Zen style, for the host of the house.
- Inspiration
- The "Zen" means a calm and stable state of the mind. Such state of the mind is simply a state of intuition that comes spontaneously.Different from the elements of Eastern Zen, however, we incorporate the calmness of stone material and lively colors into the wood, with the large-scale design and the introduction of natural sunlight. To return to the original Zen style, it is to combine with the nature to achieve the spiritual state of harmony between human and nature.
- Project Duration
- This project finished in July in Taoyuan, Taiwan(R.O.C).
- Operation Flow
- We create an electrical cabinet with different orientations based on the orientation of the space, so as to overcome the problem of the small space of the kitchen. Together with the vertically rising door sheet hardware, we effectively reduce the space occupied by the door sheet when opened. Also, the connecting sliding glass door visually enlarges the space of the dining area. In addition, the open design renders the public area for the dialogue as well.
