About The Manliness Attitude Residential Interior Design

The Manliness Attitude is a residential interior design completed in Hong Kong in 2019. The home was planned for a resident who works in the financial industry from home and lives with a dog. White walls finished in eco paint leave open space for an art collection. Wood, stone, black chrome stainless steel and wrought iron add texture, while grey, brown and black form a consistent colour scheme. A work area adjoins the living room and can be separated by a glass door. Laminated stone-like surfaces suit the humid mountain setting.

Production Technology
Eco paint in white finish was used to complete all the wall so the art collections could make a statement for themselves. Considering the location of the abode by a greenery mountain which could be relatively humid, designer has picked stone like material that are in laminated finish so they are more durable and well sealed to withstand the humidity. The use of stainless steel would also ease out the maintenance that needed to be taken care of for this pet home in a long run.
Design Challenge
As homeowner is keeping some exiting furniture pieces so the designer has decided to revolve the interior to around them. The material choices and color tone have to be aligned and coherent in order to deliver an aesthetic balance.
Research
The brief is to deliver a modern and stylish home for the homeowner who has a profession in the financial industry. As he is working from home most of the time, the designer takes special care on his own lifestyle, making a workplace adjoining with the living room, and overall more spacious.
Inspiration
With a contemporary approach, a cool and stylish designed home is made to suit a bachelor who lives with his dog. By carefully imbuing details such as the lifestyle of homeowner, designer has created an open workplace for which can be partitioned with glass door for fluidity and transparency. Masculine tone of grey, brown and black are integrated throughout the residence for a modern minimalist style of interior.
