This hereditary home of the Yi people, whose traditions are imbued with a worship of the mountains and a sense of ritual for life. By combining the traditional rituals of the ancient Yi people with modern tourism functions, the designers at Western Line Studio have created a building with a volume similar to a traditional Yi altar, accessed through a ceremonial ramp and establishing a dialogue with the sky through a system of skylights; thus creating a wordless monument and a historical consensus structure.
