What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
My inspiration for this project was derived from the sheer beauty and design ingenuity of luxury yachts. I was inspired by the seamless way in which these vessels move across water and the sense of fluidity and grace that they exude. I wanted to capture that same sense of movement and grace in the design of Merete, so that it would appear to effortlessly glide through any space.
What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
Throughout the design process, my thoughts were focused on creating a collection that would be both functional and visually stunning, while also evoking a sense of luxury and refinement. I carefully considered every aspect of the design, from the shape and form of the pieces to the choice of materials and finishes, to ensure that each element would work harmoniously to create a cohesive and captivating collection.
Overall, my goal with Merete was to create a collection that would transport people to a world of luxury and sophistication, evoking the feeling of being on board a stunning yacht while also serving a practical purpose in interior design.
What are your future plans for this award winning design?
Merete Lounge and Console Table Collection, holds a special place in my heart. Inspired by the sleek and luxurious design of modern yachts, it embodies a sense of elegance and sophistication that I aimed to translate into interior design.
