The company does about 500 lighting designs every year. Inspiration for development came during countless meetings with families while doing lighting design. Every situation is different and every room has different needs because of materials and textures. The product family was created to stop arguments about color temperature with customers and to provide high-quality (CRI98) LED lights for an affordable price range. Tunnelma CCT product family is designed to help installers and resellers to cut warehouse stock in half. It is Smart Home ready with support for Zigbee or DALI2.

What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
Functionality, simplicity and elegance. No Compromises.
What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
A real need in the market. In my work, I constantly encounter customers who cannot decide on the temperature of the lighting. There were different closed ecosystems on the market that are not very reliable in my experience and the range is limited. I wanted to solve the problem by offering a practical product family that does not tie the customer to a particular system and does not compromise on quality in the design of the light.
What are your future plans for this award winning design?
Looking for partners in whole EU area.

Your innovative approach to solving color temperature preferences through the Tunnelma CCT Led Lighting system is remarkable - could you elaborate on how your experience with 500 annual lighting designs influenced this solution?
Actually A lot. This product family is more about function rather than visuals. Desinging was all done funtionatily first, installation easyness second and visual looks third. By making lighting designs to different homes with our team, we get constant feedback of differemt needs from customers. That always effects on design.
The Tunnelma CCT Led Lighting achieves an impressive CRI of 95-98 - what inspired your commitment to such exceptional color rendering quality, and how does this technical achievement benefit different user environments?
As all graphical designers, artists and painters know, high quality lights are VERY important to make sure that colors are as intended. For painter ie. making art and then shipping it to customer to only realise that painting colors are not right when diplayed at location, makes it wrong for art and artist. We have been making high CRI products for long time and giving same option to consumer, not just professional, is consumer right. More high quality lights come to market, makes all win.
As sustainability becomes increasingly crucial in design, how does the Tunnelma CCT Led Lighting's all-aluminum construction and absence of plastics reflect your environmental considerations while maintaining affordability?
Products are function first and therefore full aluminum is used to make LED lights last long time. Good heat dissipation makes LED chip last up to 50% longer! That also makes it so that light does not need replacement for long time and its sustainable. Products are also designed to be commercially viable with mass production and all models share components as much as possible.

- Super High CRI. All products have CRI 95-98, 5-7 years quarantee. 24V

- Production Technology
- Full Alumimun frame. No plastics. HIGH quality led lights. Led lights have 3 wires with easy connection system, all lights are connected in series, 24DCV. Used with any well established CCT led driver or controller.

- Nothing really. Just money for few prtototypes and to start production.
- Research
- Finnish construction field has typical way of building. Led light family needed to fit into 55mm maximim height for Finnish most common ceiling type and it needed apporox 600 Lumens for light output Light system also needed to be customizable for customer with HIGH CRI and quality components..
We already had good factory to output our downlights so after designing and drawing idea, they were consulted to find perfect led chip. We did only 3 rounds of prototypes and Tunnelma Led light series was done! - Inspiration
- Needs. Company background is building houses and there has always been argument about light temperature. After years of Selling led lights it was clear: Male prefer Cooler temperatures and Female prefer warmer tones. Now you can choose. Product also helps to cut warehouse stock in half.
- Project Duration
- CCT led Down Light prodcutd family started development in 2018 and launched 2019. CCT Led panels and CCT Led light strips launched in 2020.
- Operation Flow
- Product family has 2 options to choose from:
1. Basic: Customer chooses 2900K/4000/5500K with provided driver
2. Customisable: Remove led light driver and then light can be used freely 2900-5500K.
Connect to any smart lighting system, such as: DALI2, Zigbee, Z-Wawe, etc lighting system with their 24V led light driver. All Downlights have ready plug for our ready made cabling (3 meter wire male-female and 3 and 6 way splitters). OR you can use old 3 gang wiring. - Patents
