About Object Series Audio and Sound Equipment
Object Series is a loudspeaker designed for high quality sound reproduction. Each pipe shaped soundbox is kept separate, so the tones do not interfere with one another. The pipe form reduces irregular internal reflections and limits sound distortion. Vicuna wool is placed where the sound is reflected, following a technique developed by a French family that has made string instruments for more than one hundred years. The grouped pipes give the form of a blooming flower. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a LAN port and a USB port allow connection to computers, laptops and televisions.
The Object Series Audio and Sound Equipment by sungjae Han represents a compelling synthesis of acoustic engineering and sculptural artistry, positioning itself within a distinguished lineage of audio design that has long sought to reconcile technical performance with aesthetic presence in domestic environments. This work appears to engage with traditions established by pioneering audio manufacturers who recognized that speakers, as permanent fixtures within living spaces, warranted the same design consideration as fine furniture or decorative objects. The quatrefoil configuration of four clustered cylindrical enclosures suggests both structural ingenuity in acoustic engineering and formal sophistication in visual composition, the arrangement creating a distinctive silhouette that reads as simultaneously technological and organic, perhaps evoking floral or cellular forms found in nature. The chromatic decision to employ a saturated vermillion red lacquer finish demonstrates considerable confidence, transforming what might conventionally appear as neutral equipment into an assertive design statement that commands spatial attention. Technical execution appears exceptional, with the seamless integration of glossy painted surfaces, precisely tensioned acoustic fabric, and elegantly proportioned stainless steel support elements suggesting meticulous manufacturing processes. The pedestal mounting elevates the speaker cluster both literally and conceptually, presenting audio reproduction not as utilitarian equipment to be concealed but as sculptural presence to be celebrated. - Unique Properties
- The object series is a high-end speaker with a variety of technologies. The Vicuna technology developed by the Garell family, which has been producing string instruments for more than 100 years in France, has been applied to the object series to will give users a clearer and grander sound. The object series is designed separately to convey the original sound to the listener without interfering with each other's sounds. The shape of the pipes together like this has the appearance of a flower blooming.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- 420mm x 356mm x 1000mm (Object 6) / 420mm x 356mm x 670mm (Object 9) / Object 6 is designed so that a high-pitched twitter is located near the ear when the listener is sitting.

- Production Technology
- Vicuna Technology: Vicuna wool, called the fiber of God, delicately disperses the density of sound with the rich air between the thin fibers. Founder Louis Garrell successfully placed a Vicuna Wool behind the strings of the instrument to release ultra-high and ultra-low notes and deliver the original sound in abundance. The object series applies this technology as it is, placing Vicuna wool where the sound is reflected, realizing the original sound with little distortion.
- Design Challenge
- Many design modifications have been made to make the structure of multiple pipes look more aesthetic. It also went through several trials and errors to apply Vicuna technology.
- Project Duration
- The project started in France in February 2022 and will be exhibited in SIGNIEL Busan, Korea in June 2023.
- Operation Flow
- The object series is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, so high-quality sound sources can be transmitted without compressing them, and Wi-Fi technology is included, so you can play music with various applications. It is also equipped with an LAN line and a usb port, so it can work with computers, laptops, and televisions.
- Research
- The design began based on saving two soundboxes each on Twitter and Mid, and went through the process of finding the most optimized size and proportion both functionally and aesthetically. The audio speaker was produced by sharing tasks such as sketch process, material research, woodwork production, sound structure design, and exterior design.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration of the design is that it shows the structure itself, where multiple pipes are gathered for the original sound transmission. To make a good sound, the speaker should have fewer irregularly reflective corners. So, the soundbox is pipe shaped is the most ideal structure. Also, the object series is designed to keep each soundbox intact, minimizing sound distortion.
