About T Haven Apartment Living
The project involves designing and constructing a spacious apartment. This residence will feature multiple bedrooms, bathrooms and various living spaces to meet the needs of a modern family. The design will focus on creating a comfortable, functional and aesthetically pleasing environment. A floating staircase will serve as a highlight, drawing visitors attention as they explore the art pieces displayed around the room. This blend of art, design and functionality will create a unique and inviting atmosphere for visitors.
Adrian Hung's T Haven Apartment Living represents a distinguished achievement in contemporary residential interior design, demonstrating how thoughtful material selection and precise spatial choreography can transform a dining environment into a sanctuary of refined hospitality. The designer appears to draw upon Asian sensibilities regarding the ceremonial importance of shared meals while employing a distinctly modern material vocabulary that privileges natural warmth and tactile authenticity. The enveloping wood-paneled walls, executed in carefully selected and book-matched oak veneer, suggest both protective enclosure and organic connection, creating what might be understood as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional gathering hall. Technical accomplishment manifests throughout: the curved millwork elements at the rear demonstrate advanced fabrication capabilities, their undulating surfaces creating subtle plays of light and shadow that animate the vertical plane without competing for attention. The pendant light installation emerges as a sculptural centerpiece, its clustered chrome spheres of varying dimensions evoking perhaps cellular forms or planetary bodies suspended in gravitational relationship, their highly polished surfaces introducing visual complexity through reflection and distortion of the surrounding environment. The chromatic restraint proves particularly effective, limiting the palette to warm natural wood tones, cool metallic notes, and neutral textile grays, allowing material qualities rather than applied color to establish visual interest. One observes sophisticated attention to the threshold conditions between materials, where shadow gaps and minimal reveals create clean separations that honor each surface's integrity. - Production Technology
- The staircase is features open risers and horizontal wooden treads, giving the appearance of floating steps. These treads are connected to a central dark metal stringer, which adds a sleek and contemporary touch to the overall design. The handrail, also made of wood, curves smoothly around the edge of the staircase, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.
- Design Challenge
- While the bonsai tree introduces a natural, calming element, symbolizing balance and harmony. we to put that in entrance foyer, contribute to a cozy atmosphere, making the space feel inviting.
- Project Duration
- The project started in May 2023 in Hong Kong and finished in September 2024
- Operation Flow
- The entrance is located on the middle floor of this apartment, which serves as a central hub. The visitor area is situated downstairs, while the private quarters are upstairs. Common areas such as the gym and living room are on the middle floor, making them easily accessible. Visitors can enjoy meals in the kitchen and dining area, and relax in the play area and tearoom, all located downstairs. The owner’s private quarters upstairs provide a peaceful retreat, ensuring privacy and tranquility

- This design tells a story of blending nature with modernity, creating a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. We tried do some research on how to blend nature, modern aesthetics with traditional elements, creating a serene and welcoming space
- Inspiration
- An interior space is inspired by minimalist and contemporary aesthetics, focusing on clean lines, functional spaces, and a neutral color palette, with a staircase as the focal point. The staircase features smooth, curved wooden panels that create a flowing, organic look, adding a sense of movement and elegance to the space. This design exemplifies how practical elements can be incorporated into living spaces without compromising on elegance and aesthetics.
