Eastern Institute for Advanced Study is an interior design project for the teaching buildings of a technology institute in Ningbo. The design covers 1.5 million square meters. Each building has a distinct character. The Engineering Building uses suspended steel wire mesh and wall mechanisms for an industrial feel. The School of Life Sciences integrates plants. This institution aims to cultivate exceptional scientific and technological talent and aspires to be a prestigious century old university on a global scale. The interior design team has adhered to, and will incorporate the principles of a classic century old campus in the design of each teaching building.

- In line with the specific needs of the institution, the design is advised to distinguish itself and adhere to the principles of establishing a long lasting prestigious institution. The design team spent a lot of time in preparing and revising creative solutions.

- In the predesign phase, the team conducted an extensive analysis of typical campus cases at home and abroad. These works include surveying comparable institutions, identifying key strengths and challenges in their designs, and examining material options suited for the geographical and climatic contexts of research-oriented institutions, in order to ensure that the design proposal is not only distinctive but also feasible and practical in real scenario applications.

- Inspired by the design philosophies of the world's leading institutions, the team aims to create an open, collaborative, and inspiring learning environment, making every interior design distinctive.
- Project Duration
- The project commenced in July 2023 and was completed in July 2024.
- Operation Flow
- The versatility of spaces is achieved through the flexible setup of furniture and the design of adaptable teaching areas. A variety of colors, materials, artworks, and space configurations are used to foster an academic environment that fits with the identity of each building and underlines the cultural philosophy and values of the institution.
