Your innovative integration of astronomical and maritime elements in Auramaris Yacht creates a unique aesthetic harmony - could you elaborate on how these celestial and oceanic influences shaped your design decisions throughout the vessel's interior spaces?
In Auramaris, the integration of celestial and maritime themes was not just an aesthetic gesture—it formed the conceptual backbone of the entire interior design. This dual inspiration guided both emotional tone and spatial decisions. Historically, constellations played a vital role in navigation, and this idea influenced our ceiling lighting compositions, which subtly reflect constellation-like patterns that evoke a sense of direction and movement. On the floor, we introduced inlays that resemble lunar phases and tidal maps, reinforcing the relationship between astronomy and oceanography. Material choices echoed this duality: polished natural stones mimicked the shimmer of starlight on water, while brushed metals and deep walnut tones invoked the tactile warmth of traditional sea vessels. The color palette shifts from cooler metallics in open, communal spaces to warmer, more intimate tones in private cabins—mirroring the transition from the expansive sky to the shelter of a ship’s interior. Auramaris was conceived not just as a luxurious vessel, but as a multi-sensory narrative, where the dialogue between stars and sea becomes the emotional core of the design.
The custom-made block glass and headboard detail in Auramaris Yacht required extensive consultation with Murano experts - what were the specific technical challenges you encountered when implementing this distinctive feature, and how did overcoming them influence the final design?
The custom block glass and headboard detail on Auramaris required an intensive collaboration with Murano glass experts to ensure the craftsmanship aligned with both aesthetic vision and maritime functionality. A primary technical challenge was achieving the right balance between durability and flexibility, given the yacht’s constant movement at sea, while maintaining the glass’s clarity and brilliance.Through multiple prototypes and consultations, the thickness of the glass, jointing methods, and supporting structures were carefully optimized. Furthermore, integrating the glass seamlessly with the headboard demanded innovative fastening systems that preserved the design’s fluidity without compromising structural integrity.Overcoming these challenges elevated the design to a level where form met function without compromise. This process not only enhanced the yacht’s visual uniqueness but also ensured longevity and resilience, resulting in an interior feature that stands out both technically and artistically.
The cornerless furniture design in Auramaris Yacht creates an intriguing flow throughout the interior - how did you balance this smooth aesthetic with the practical demands of maritime functionality and safety requirements?
The cornerless furniture design in Auramaris was carefully crafted to merge aesthetic fluidity with the rigorous demands of maritime functionality and safety. Rounded edges were intentionally chosen to reduce potential injuries caused by movement onboard and to facilitate smoother circulation within the confined yacht spaces. From a practical standpoint, materials and finishes were selected for their resistance to moisture, vibration, and wear. Additionally, all furniture was securely fastened following marine safety standards and IMO regulations to ensure stability during navigation.Throughout the design process, close collaboration with naval engineers ensured that this seamless aesthetic did not compromise safety or accessibility, especially in emergency situations. The final result is an interior that flows gracefully while maintaining the highest standards of maritime safety and operational practicality.

- Production Technology
- In the interior design of Auramaris, every detail was crafted with Turkish marble and water jet cutting techniques, creating a refined and unique aesthetic. CNC machining technology was employed for natural wood veneers, organic finishes, custom-made block glass, bespoke leather coverings, and custom-made stainless steel CNC metallic surfaces. The cornerless design of the furniture merges aesthetics with functionality, resulting in a smooth, flowing form, while each material was meticulously chosen to reflect the highest standards of originality and quality.
- Design Challenge
- The biggest challenge in the design process was balancing aesthetics and functionality to create a durable and visually striking interior in a maritime environment. The headboard glass detail was carefully consulted with experts from the Murano region of Italy, addressing the curvature, thickness, maximum height, and internal void. Additionally, the owner's specific requests, production limitations, and environmental sustainability requirements added complexity. Overcoming these obstacles allowed for innovative solutions that refined every aspect of the design.
- Research
- The project design was shaped using user-centered research methods. The objective was to create a living space in harmony with the sea, combining aesthetics and functionality. The methodology focused on ergonomics, material selection, and environmental factors. Data was collected through feedback from industry experts and yacht owners. Participants included interior design experts and maritime professionals. The results showed that the design was aesthetic, functional, and environmentally friendly. The research contributed to the development of innovative approaches in modern yacht design.
- Inspiration
- In designing Auramaris, we drew inspiration from the depths of the sea and rich elements of mythology. Its elegance emerged as a perfect balance between serenity and strength. We combined the power of sea gods, the aesthetics of divine beings, and the delicate touch of natural elements in the design. Our goal was to offer a visual and emotional journey through every detail, shaping the design in harmony with the sea.
- Project Duration
- The project began in early 2023, with the design phase taking 6 months. Currently, it is in the construction phase at the shipyard, and upon completion, it will stand out for its aesthetic and functional features in harmony with the sea.
- Operation Flow
- Auramaris provides comfort and aesthetics in every space, working in harmony as a whole. The interior offers an ergonomic flow that adapts to the user’s movements and needs. Every detail strikes a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics, providing a relaxing, efficient, and visually pleasing experience. The design’s modular structure offers flexibility to accommodate different user needs, ensuring each space functions in harmony
