Design Interview
What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
The Blossoms Collection is founded on the belief that art is a meditative, spiritual act. It draws inspiration from nature’s quiet strength — flowers, light and organic forms that embody renewal and resilience. Each piece captures the essence of blooming, translating that moment of life and harmony into a glass-like, layered surface that radiates calm and beauty.
What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
My focus was to create an artwork that emanates serenity through light, translucency, and movement. I wanted the viewer to feel the emotion of a bloom — that sense of quiet joy and healing — rather than simply observe it. The goal was to design something that merges fine art, craftsmanship, and emotion seamlessly within architectural space.
What are your future plans for this award winning design?
The Blossoms Collection will evolve into larger, site-specific installations and limited-edition artworks for interiors. It will take shape in various forms — from sculptural wall pieces to illuminated installations — each exploring new materials and spatial expressions. Over time, the series will grow beyond Blossoms, expanding into new nature-inspired themes that continue the dialogue between light, texture, and emotion. Each piece will remain handmade and one-of-a-kind, with plans to showcase globally through collaborations with architects, hotels, and curated design exhibitions.

- Production Technology
- The Blossoms are handcrafted using mixed media, featuring exquisite hues, textures, and a unique glass-like effect. Unlike molded pieces, each one is individually made, adding vibrancy to any space while being easy to maintain. They are broadly made in three different sizes. They are mounted with durable SS 304 metal fittings with a PVD rose gold finish to prevent rust. Designed to resemble elegant stems rather than hardware, these fittings seamlessly blend into the artwork. The height of the fittings is varied to enjoy the different levels in the artwork. The flowers were placed from 6ft upwards on the wall to avoid anyone bumping into it.
- Design Challenge
- The biggest challenge was finding a material that felt delicate yet was not as fragile as glass. After extensive research and testing, we developed a unique mixed-media composition that balanced durability with elegance. Achieving the right translucency and texture required multiple prototypes. Production was another hurdle, as handcrafted elements needed precision and consistency. Socially, we aimed to reintroduce artisanal craftsmanship in a market dominated by mass production.
- Research
- This project explores experimental design research, focusing on innovative material combinations for durable, striking decor. We found no existing solution balancing delicacy and durability like glass. Using material experimentation and user feedback, we refined aesthetics and function. Handmade blossoms proved more engaging than mass-produced decor, interacting beautifully with light. This research supports artisanal craftsmanship, reinforcing the value of personalized, maintenance-friendly art.
- Inspiration
- Nature has always been a profound source of inspiration The dining room the soul of a home where memories are made had to be a showstopper We drew from nature's vibrancy choosing flowers in full bloom larger than life exuding energy. Each handcrafted piece is unique like in nature, interacts with light creating dynamic shadows and reflections. The result, an everevolving experience that sparks emotion and transforms the space into a visual delight.
- Project Duration
- The project started in March 2022 and finished in June2022
- Operation Flow
- This piece is designed for effortless interaction. It can be easily mounted using durable fittings that blend seamlessly into the design. Light plays beautifully on its surface, enhancing its vibrant hues and glass like textures. Unlike conventional decor, it adds depth and movement to a space, transforming with different angles and lighting. Its handmade nature ensures uniqueness, making each piece a statement. Built for longevity, it resists rust and remains easy to clean and maintain.
