About Phoenix Kanri Office Interiors
The design was developed based on the client's company name, Phoenix, and was inspired by the concept of Renaissance, with the aim of fostering corporate and cultural revitalization. In light of Phoenix's expertise in real estate, it seems prudent to incorporate natural materials, such as stones and wood, into every detail. The ceiling design has been meticulously crafted to embody the company's image, characterized by a heavy and substantial aesthetic. The railing of the atrium comprises three layers of laminated glass, masterfully crafted to create a sense of depth and dimensionality.
Phoenix Kanri Office Interiors by GOOD PLACE represents a distinguished achievement in contemporary commercial interior design, wherein the designers demonstrate remarkable facility in orchestrating material, light, and geometry to create an environment that transcends typical corporate reception aesthetics while maintaining professional gravitas. The work evidences deep engagement with material culture traditions, juxtaposing the primordial tactile presence of heavily textured stone surfaces against the refined precision of metallic linear elements, a dialogue between raw geological form and human-crafted geometry that suggests influences ranging from Japanese craft philosophy to mid-century modernist material honesty. The ceiling treatment emerges as a particularly accomplished formal invention, its intersecting gold bands creating a dynamic overhead lattice that evokes traditional Eastern architectural screens while functioning within contemporary design vocabulary, the deep teal panels providing chromatic richness and visual depth that transforms the ceiling from mere enclosure into active compositional participant. Technical merit manifests in the careful calibration of lighting sources, from the warm ambient glow suffusing the space to the precise accent illumination that models the textured stone surfaces, revealing their geological character while maintaining welcoming warmth. The tripartite rear wall composition, with its symmetrical stone panels flanking an illuminated display niche, demonstrates classical compositional principles adapted to contemporary commercial purposes, the floating shelves creating opportunities for curatorial display that humanize the professional environment. The sculptural amber glass lamp introduces organic biomorphic form as counterpoint to prevailing rectilinearity, suggesting the designers' attentiveness to visual rhythm and formal variety. One might observe how the space negotiates between solidity and refinement, between earthbound material presence and aspirational elegance, creating an environment that communicates both stability and sophistication. The viewer is invited to consider how material choices shape our psychological experience of commercial spaces, and what it means to encounter such considered beauty in environments of professional exchange.

- The office relocation was carried out in accordance with the increase in staff due to business expansion. A comprehensive survey revealed a diverse range of usage patterns, leading to the creation of dedicated meeting and VIP areas for guests, in addition to the primary office area used by employees. The design of the new office was developed based on the client's company name, Phoenix, and was inspired by the concept of rebirth, with the aim of fostering corporate and cultural revitalization.

- Production Technology
- The handrail is constructed with three sheets of laminated glass, creating a layered depth effect. The sandblasted etched glass serves to beautifully showcase the shadow of the feather motif, highlighting the multi-layered structure.The hallway features a unique display that captures the essence of the ocean. Mirrored corrugated panels on the ceiling and long lighting that recreates the view from underneath create an immersive experience, allowing guests to feel as if they are in the ocean.
- Design Challenge
- The client's objectives included "an office that increases productivity" and "an interior that is full of hospitality in the VIP area." While these requests were abstract, through analysis using diagrams and detailed interviews, we've discovered their daily work usage patterns and how they're adapting to meet their guests' needs. We created an immersive experience that made you forget you were in an office building, and created a space that exceeded their expectations.
- Project Duration
- The proposal started from October 1, 2022 to March 27, 2023.
We began designing from April 1, 2023 to September 1, 2023.
The construction started on 1 October 2023 to June 1, 2024. - Operation Flow
- A co-working space has been designated as a separate area from the office. This room is sufficiently spacious to accommodate events, social gatherings, and company-wide events. It is also flexible, with easily movable fixtures. Since Phoenix is a building company, natural materials are incorporated into every detail. To ensure the comfort and accessibility of our elderly guests, furnishings are meticulously crafted to facilitate ease of movement and standing.
- Research
- The ceiling's decorative elements, featuring phoenix wings at the entrance, and the dynamic movement of the wind flowing between them were rendered into six patterns. During the development of the 3D shape that appears to rise from the atrium, several issues required attention, including achieving a sense of unity, accentuating the wings with the lighting installed in each curve, and ensuring the cut line at the wall. Numerous mockups were created and tests were conducted to address these issues
- Inspiration
- At the time of its founding, the company was named "Phoenix" in the hope that it would "keep coming back" as other companies around it went bankrupt due to the recession. The main motif of streamlining was born from the company name and the desire to be a company that can continue to flourish. The design of the entrance is inspired by primary feather which has the function of moving forward between the wings of a bird, and the flow of air between the feathers of a bird as it rises.
