About Round Arched Table Quick Assembly Furniture
Round Arched Table is a quick assembly table inspired by the round arches of European architecture. The arch outline is reduced in scale and applied to the side supports, giving the table a clear architectural character that still suits home interiors. The table is made of wood fiberboard or solid wood, shaped by CNC cutting. Dovetail joints connect the tabletop and the side panels, so assembly and disassembly require no tools. The design is produced as a side table, a coffee table and a bar table, and supports flat packing, moving and changes of layout.
Ziel Home Furnishing Technology Co., Ltd's Round Arched Table Quick Assembly Furniture engages the contemporary discourse surrounding accessible design, sustainable domestic furnishing, and the democratization of quality through innovative manufacturing and distribution strategies that have defined progressive furniture design since the mid-twentieth century, presenting a solution that honors both material integrity and user agency within the home environment. The composition demonstrates notable technical accomplishment in its systematic visual communication of assembly logic, employing a pedagogical clarity reminiscent of instructional diagrams while maintaining aesthetic refinement through careful attention to proportional relationships, surface finish, and the inherent beauty of natural wood grain patterns that animate each component with organic visual texture. The pale hardwood selection, appearing to be responsibly sourced birch or maple, exhibits the warm blonde tonality and fine linear grain characteristic of temperate-zone hardwoods, while the precision manufacturing evident in crisp edge treatment and exact component dimensioning suggests contemporary CNC fabrication methods that enable reproducible quality at accessible price points, a technical achievement that bridges artisanal craft traditions and industrial efficiency. The formal vocabulary centers on the graceful rounded arch that gives the design its nomenclature, a profile that evokes centuries of architectural tradition from Romanesque basilicas to modernist furniture by designers such as those working within progressive furniture movements, yet here rendered at domestic scale and translated into negative space that transforms void into primary formal element through figure-ground reversal, demonstrating sophisticated understanding of perceptual dynamics and the visual power of absence as much as presence. The quick-assembly innovation addresses practical realities of contemporary living including space-efficient transportation, reduced packaging waste, accessible pricing through optimized manufacturing, and user empowerment through transparent construction logic that invites rather than mystifies the assembly process, positioning the end-user as creative participant rather than passive consumer. The packaging presentation visible in the composition's left portion reveals thoughtful attention to the complete user experience from acquisition through assembly, with kraft paper materials suggesting environmental consciousness and the opened box format providing visual access to the nested flat components that will transform through simple joining operations into functional three-dimensional form. One observes how the design navigates the productive tension between standardization enabling affordability and individual expression through form, achieving a balance that has preoccupied furniture designers throughout the modern era as they have sought to reconcile industrial production with humanistic values. The composition invites viewers to consider how everyday domestic objects embody design philosophy, manufacturing innovation, material stewardship, and cultural values around accessibility, sustainability, and beauty in functional form, asking what contemporary furniture design might contribute to more thoughtful relationships between people, objects, and environments within the spaces we inhabit daily.
Press Kit
- Unique Properties
- Round arched table takes the circular arch in European architecture as the core inspiration source, and systematically transforms the spatial order and cultural heritage of the building into the morphological language of furniture. With "architectural gene + practical function + humanistic warmth" as the context, it redefines the way architectural aesthetics are integrated into the home space for users who pursue quality and aesthetic resonance.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- Side table: 450mm×450mm×550mm
Coffee table: 800mm×800mm×460mm
Bar table: 550mm×550mm×1000mm - Tags
- Quick assembly and disassembly, architectural style, mortise and tenon joints, flat packing, tool-free furniture installation
- Production Technology
- Select wood fiberboard (or solid wood board, adjusted according to cost and demand), which has good processing performance and natural texture, suitable for design style.
Through CNC cutting technology, the contours of each component and the mortise and tenon structure (dovetail tenon) are accurately processed; using the plane assembly method, the components are spliced through the dovetail tenon to achieve quick disassembly and assembly. - Design Challenge
- The difficulty of the design is to make the furniture fit in with the home space while retaining the solemn beauty of the building. Excessive use of architectural elements leads to a bulky shape that conflicts with the home scene. In the later stage, by adjusting the arc shape and simplifying the symbols, a balance is achieved between solemnity and lightness, which not only echoes the rhythm of the architectural space, but also makes the furniture simple and friendly.
- Project Duration
- The project will start construction in Shenzhen in December 2024 and be completed in Shenzhen in June 2025.
- Operation Flow
- Simply align the dovetail of the side bracket with the mortise of the tabletop and insert it. The mechanical engagement of the mortise and tenon completes the splicing, and the entire process does not require any additional tools.
When you need to clean or change the placement space, you only need to reverse the assembly steps to easily disassemble the parts, which can adapt to dynamic needs such as renting and moving, home space renovation, etc. - Research
- This project focuses on the integration of furniture design and architectural aesthetics, taking European round arches as inspiration, and exploring ways to transform architectural elements into furniture forms. Through the study of dovetail joints and quick-disassembly assembly methods, the feasibility of applying traditional mortise and tenon joint technology in modern quick-assembly furniture is verified, helping to create modern furniture products that are both artistic and practical.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration comes from an in-depth study of European classical architecture. Standing under the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, the spatial order constructed by the giant arch, the artistic tension accumulated over time, and the heavy sense of history and culture it carries, triggered the design team's thinking about "how architecture can enter daily life". The team found that the arch, as a landmark element of European architecture, not only creates a magnificent and solemn public space, but also contains mankind's eternal pursuit of "connection" (spatial connection, connection between history and the present). Therefore, we tried to disassemble and reorganize the formal genes and aesthetic logic of the arch, and transform it into a furniture form close to the living scene - so that the visual symbols and spatial rhythms of the Arc de Triomphe are no longer limited to city landmarks, but integrated into every corner of the home, so that people can perceive and associate with architectural art in the daily use of the dining table, such as placing a cup of coffee and reading a book, and realize the design vision of "transforming the poetry of architecture into the daily poetry of life".
