About Yi He Hotel

Yi He is a resort hotel interior located in Wuning, China, with a total area of 14000 square meters. The open plan lobby is reached by steps from the entrance and opens toward distant mountains. A blue carpet with water ripples, wooden tables with pine trees and flowers on glass pillars connect architecture and landscape. A moon gate leads to the lobby bar, where a rhododendron themed screen divides a tea room from the all day dining restaurant. Guest rooms are themed by floor and framed by the surrounding views.

Haoran Wan's Yi He Hotel represents a distinguished contribution to contemporary hospitality design that engages deeply with regional architectural heritage while articulating a thoroughly modern spatial experience, the work demonstrates exceptional command of scale, proportion, and material hierarchy in service of creating an arrival sequence that honors traditions of ceremonial threshold crossing while meeting contemporary expectations for luxury accommodation, the designer appears to have drawn upon the rich vocabulary of classical wooden architecture, reinterpreting the modular logic of bracket systems and coffered ceilings through a contemporary lens that preserves symbolic resonance while achieving technical refinement appropriate to current construction methodologies, the chromatic strategy proves particularly accomplished in its deployment of saturated vermillion against natural timber tones, creating a warm envelope that suggests both celebration and contemplation, the focal mountainscape artwork serves as a genius loci element that grounds the abstract architectural geometry in landscape reference, its teal and white palette introducing cooling notes that balance the overall warmth while establishing visual connection to the aqueous floor treatment, the moon gate apertures demonstrate sophisticated understanding of spatial layering and threshold psychology, their circular forms activating archetypal associations with wholeness, passage, and cosmic order while functionally organizing circulation patterns and visual connections between program areas, material selections throughout exhibit refined sensibility, from the honey-toned timber with its tactile grain to the polished stone flooring with subtle geological character, the bonsai specimens positioned on the central console introduce essential organic counterpoint, their living presence humanizing the architectural formality while referencing contemplative garden traditions, lighting design achieves subtle mastery in its balance of functional illumination and atmospheric effect, the work ultimately succeeds in creating a space that elevates the act of arrival to ceremonial significance while maintaining genuine warmth and welcome, one might contemplate how such environments shape our psychological transition from public realm to private sanctuary.
