About Chanel Furniture Collection
Chanel is a furniture collection created as a complete home solution. The collection covers eight living scenarios, including the entryway, living room, kitchen and dining area, and bedroom. A black and white palette defines the visual identity. Walnut cabinetry, solid wood flooring, marble countertops, metal handles, aluminum frames and glass panels are used, together with water based paint. Modular zoning separates active areas from quiet rooms. Bedroom backlighting responds to night sensing, and rounded doors and edges reduce collision risks for children and older people.
This custom furniture collection emerges from a sophisticated spatial intervention that demonstrates how contemporary design sensibility can engage productively with historical architectural fabric, creating dialogue rather than erasure between classical ornamental tradition and present-day minimalist discipline, the work appearing to occupy an interior environment rich with neoclassical or Beaux-Arts detailing including raised panel wainscoting, fluted pilasters with understated capitals, and elaborate cornice work with dentil and layered molding profiles, all meticulously preserved or restored and unified through consistent white painted finish that both honors the historical craftsmanship and establishes chromatic foundation for contemporary insertions, into this ornamental framework the furniture system introduces bold horizontal volumes in pure white that cantilever from the wall plane as floating bands, their crisp linear geometry and seamless matte surfaces contrasting productively with the articulated relief and textural richness of the classical surround, these white volumes functioning as integrated display and storage elements with recessed charcoal-toned niches equipped with discreet LED accent lighting that creates focused pools of warm illumination highlighting carefully selected objects including sculptural vessels and organic dried botanicals, the dark recessed fields providing chromatic punctuation and visual depth while the internal lighting adds atmospheric dimensionality and draws attention to the curated contents, vertical elements in deep charcoal to matte black with pronounced ribbed or fluted surface texture introduce rhythmic alternation and material variety, their dimensional relief catching ambient light along raised portions to activate the wall plane and provide tactile visual interest that complements rather than competes with the historical pilasters, a bold horizontal black band floating below the ceiling line reads as graphic intervention or structural expression that provides visual weight in the upper register and anchors the composition while creating productive tension between ornamental past and reductive present, the spatial composition benefits from sophisticated layering with clear foreground-middle ground-background relationships established through overlapping planes and scale diminution, the warm honey-toned oak parquet flooring in herringbone pattern providing natural material warmth and geometric animation at the base plane, its diagonal vector creating subtle dynamic energy while the natural wood grain and polished surface contribute textural richness and luminous reflection, the background revealing additional spatial depth through a rounded archway finished in matte black that frames a secondary zone containing what appears to be a contemporary white staircase ascending toward unseen upper levels, this threshold moment articulating spatial progression and circulation narrative while the dark surround creates strong figure-ground definition, the overall chromatic restraint relying on achromatic whites, grays, and blacks offset by warm wood naturalism demonstrates sophisticated color discipline and allows formal relationships and spatial qualities to assert primacy, the lighting strategy appearing to combine ambient diffused illumination that creates even tonality across architectural surfaces with focused accent lighting within display niches that models objects and establishes hierarchical emphasis, material selection and fabrication quality evident in seamless joinery, precise linear edges, consistent surface finishes, and refined detailing throughout suggest high-level craft execution and attention to resolution at all scales, the furniture collection inviting consideration of how contemporary design can honor architectural heritage not through mimicry but through respectful contrast that allows each temporal layer to retain integrity and legibility, the work proposing that tradition and innovation need not exist in opposition but can enter productive conversation through thoughtful material choices, proportional sensitivity, and spatial intelligence that acknowledges context while asserting present-day aesthetic values, viewers might contemplate how environments accumulate meaning through layered interventions across time and how contemporary additions can enhance rather than diminish historical character when approached with material honesty, formal discipline, and contextual awareness.

- Production Technology
- Material use prioritizes premium texture, sustainability, and durability. Walnut cabinetry and solid wood flooring set a warm tone, while Bulgari marble countertops with natural veins echo French elegance. Metal handles, aluminum frames, and glass panels add modern sophistication. Manhattan pilasters are covered with ultrafine matte leather for a soft, durable, and slip resistant finish. Water based paint replaces traditional solvent coatings, supporting a green and healthy lifestyle.
- Design Challenge
- The key challenge lay in weaving Chanel black and white aesthetics and French elegance into every space. To this end, modular structures and precise proportions ensure form never overshadows utility. Integrated versatile systems enhance daily convenience. For instance, the living room serves for movie watching, storage, art display, and socializing, while the study merges work, collecting, rest, and gatherings. This approach delivers functional adaptability and deep emotional resonance.
- Project Duration
- The design and development of this project started in Shanghai on May 1, 2025. It was introduced to the Chinese market on November 1, 2025.
- Operation Flow
- User centred interaction defines the experience. Bedroom backlighting uses night sensing to prevent sleep disruption. The tea cabinet features a smart system that identifies leaves and suggests ideal brewing temperatures. Lively areas like the living and dining rooms are separated from quiet retreats such as bedrooms and studies, ensuring uninterrupted focus or rest. Rounded doors and edges minimize collision risks, especially for children and the elderly, demonstrating care for all ages.
- Research
- This project answers real living needs. Designed for a typical Shanghai household with five members across three generations and a pet, its modular zoning resolves spatial constraints and functional conflicts. It mixes aesthetics with utility to cater to high net worth individuals valuing understated luxury. By fusing classic French aesthetics with smart technology, the design creates a home language that is both culturally rich and forward looking in a global context.
- Inspiration
- Inspired by a legendary life story, the design traces its roots to formative early experiences. Black and white emerge as defining colors—black embodying strength and dignity, while white symbolizes purity and rebirth. This iconic palette now shapes the home, turning each room into a narrative of emotion and identity. Beyond mere aesthetics, the space channels an enduring spirit of independence, elegance, and innovation—inviting you to walk through it as a lived experience rather than simply observe it.
