Liang Fang's LiHao Hotel exemplifies the sophisticated synthesis of traditional aesthetic philosophies with contemporary spatial design that characterizes the most accomplished hospitality interiors of the present era. The lobby space functions as a threshold between exterior world and interior sanctuary, employing architectural strategies rooted in classical principles of axial organization, hierarchical progression, and the careful orchestration of natural materials to establish atmosphere and meaning. The designer demonstrates particular sensitivity to the dialogue between organic form and geometric order, positioning a sculptural bonsai specimen at the compositional heart where it serves as living embodiment of patient cultivation, harmonious growth, and the philosophical ideals of finding nature's essence through careful tending. The suspended ceiling installation represents a remarkable technical achievement, with hundreds of amber-tinted elements arranged in sweeping formations that evoke traditional architectural roof forms while creating an ethereal contemporary presence through their apparent weightlessness and luminous quality. Display niches integrated within the timber battens showcase ceramic vessels and objects that reference scholarly traditions of connoisseurship and material appreciation, transforming functional storage into curatorial statement. The landscape murals glimpsed through glazed partitions extend spatial perception beyond immediate boundaries while introducing narrative content suggesting mountain wilderness and natural grandeur. Material selections reveal careful consideration of tactile experience alongside visual effect, with polished stone flooring cool beneath foot contrasting against warm wood surfaces that invite touch. - Research
- Hotel design research.Reference is made to the roof form of the courtyard; the porcelain is one of the five famous kiln in the Song Dynasty of China, and the designer applied it to the soft decoration. Lighting is an important part of creating the environment.
- Inspiration
- The designer seeks inspiration from the architecture, nature, ecology and art in the local culture, and presents it to the whole space through modern design techniques.
