About Rotass Haute Joallerie Chongqing Store
Rotass Haute Joallerie Chongqing is a jewelry store interior covering 280 square meters on two floors. The renovation of an existing commercial street building uses gypsum board, steel plate mirror and white steel pipe. Gypsum sculpture in the ground floor hall expresses the brand aesthetic, while copper steps and a mirrored ceiling create an upward movement. A raised mezzanine extends the space and serves as a VIP reception area. The second floor applies church architectural symbols to add a sense of ritual, and a faceted corridor wall recalls the inside of a diamond.
Xiaobing Yao's Rotass Haute Joallerie Chongqing Store emerges from contemporary retail design practice as a remarkable meditation on the relationship between architectural gesture and commercial experience, situating itself within traditions of experiential luxury environments that prioritize atmospheric immersion over conventional display methodologies. The installation demonstrates exceptional compositional achievement through its deployment of hundreds of suspended vertical elements that transform the ceiling plane into a three-dimensional sculptural field, creating what might be understood as an inverted forest or crystalline cave formation rendered in pristine white materiality. Technical accomplishment manifests in the precise calibration of element lengths, spacing intervals, and integrated illumination, each component contributing to an orchestrated whole that achieves both visual complexity and harmonious unity. The chromatic strategy employs strategic restraint, allowing the predominantly white palette to establish conditions of visual purity and focused attention while carefully placed teal seating and warm wood surfaces provide essential moments of material warmth and human scale. This approach appears to reference phenomenological traditions in architectural practice, where spatial experience transcends mere functionality to engage emotional and contemplative dimensions of human perception. The thematic content suggests meditation on transformation and transcendence, the vertical elements potentially evoking natural formations, musical instruments, or ascending spiritual aspirations appropriate to the precious materials housed within. One might observe how the design creates conditions of discovery, the semi-transparent screen of elements revealing and concealing simultaneously, inviting progressive exploration while maintaining mystery. - This is a two-story commercial street structural shop renovation project. The first floor hall conveys the aesthetic concept of the brand through gypsum sculpture, and the copper steps and mirror roof give the space an upward force. On the second floor, a large number of church architectural symbols are used to increase the sense of ritual for consumers.

- The project started in December 2018 in Chongqing and finished in May 2019 in Chongqing.
- Operation Flow
- The cutting wall of the corridor on the second floor makes people feel like they are shuttling in diamonds through the turning of space surface. The wall is decorated with wallpaper, which is customized by the manuscript content of the jewelry designer, reflecting the personality of the custom jewelry store.
- Research
- At present, many custom jewelry store design in the market has not jumped out of the traditional way, that is, only in the display of noble jewelry, so in order to set up the benchmark of new commercial form, designers from the artistic aesthetic aspects of improving space to consider, hoping to take into account customers of all ages, and bring them a good experience, promote secondary sales and network promotion.
- Inspiration
- The main product of Rotass is customized wedding ring, and it is the love between men and women that makes people produce this kind of consumption. Because the design relies on the brand's long history charm of the original building, therefore, the designer always designs the space around the theme of "love" symbolized by the brand from the two aspects of structure and art.
