About Bubble Forest Public Sculpture
"Bubble Forest" is a public sculpture made of acid resistant stainless steel. The material has the property of reflecting both natural and artificial light. During the night, it is illuminated with programmable RGB LED lamps. It was created as a reflection on the ability of plants to produce oxygen. The title forest consists of 18 steel stems/trunks ending with crowns in the form of spherical constructions representing a single air bubble. “Bubble Forest” refers to the terrestrial flora as well as to that known from the bottom of lakes, seas and oceans.

Design Interview
What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
Bubble Forest grows out of the same principle behind all my work: nature has already solved most structural problems, and my job is to translate its micro forms to a monumental macro scale.
What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
The main goal was creating a piece that will become a real, iconic landmark for the place it was made for - CAP3000 shopping mall in Nice, France. The real audience are people who come there, I wanted to give them something that will make their visits more interesting and that they would want to take a photo with.
What are your future plans for this award winning design?
It started a series of sculptures that keeps growing. After the Bubble Forest, I created many more sculptures utilizing similar techniques and design language. I'm now also working on creating kinetic version of a sculpture based on the same concept.

- The Bubble Forest was created as a result of deep studies of underwater flora and its ability to produce oxygen. The way to realize the idea of the project was to transfer the organic micro structures to the macro scale.
The main reason for such methodology was location of where the sculpture is installed - right next to the seaside, by the the biggest hopping mall in France, CAP 3000. - Inspiration
- Bubble Forest was created as a reflection on the ability of plants to produce oxygen. Bubble Forest refers to the terrestrial flora as well as to that known from the bottom of lakes, seas and oceans.

- The project started in April 2019 and finished with installation in Nice, France in October 2019
