Oor Prism Buffetkas
Die Prism buffetkas is geïnspireer deur die skoonheid van edelstene en die manier waarop hulle ons aandag trek, hoe hulle geslyp word om die weerkaatsing van lig te versterk. 'n Tydlose stuk wat romanties, tog skerp is. Die ontwerpspan beskou hul werk as funksionele kuns. Prism se spieëlende metaalblad is ontwerp om 'n bron van kreatiwiteit vir die aanskouër te wees. Dit kan 'n pragtige plafon, die bome buite die venster, die wolkekrabbers in die stad, of die eienaar se gunsteling voorwerp wat daarop geplaas word, weerspieël.

Prism Buffetkas is 'n wenner van die A' Design Award in Brons, 'n hoogs prestigieuse erkenning wat toegeken word aan uitstaande ontwerpe wat gekenmerk word deur kreatiwiteit, vindingrykheid en skerpsinnigheid. Wenners in Brons is ruimskoots vaardige en opvallend kreatiewe artefakte wat die groot ervaring, verbeelding en vindingrykheid van hul ontwerpers bevestig. Daar word verwag dat Prism Buffetkas 'n hoog aangeskrewe, bewonderde en gekoesterde voorwerp is wat merkwaardig professioneel en innoverend is. Hierdie ontwerp wat die A' Design Award in Brons gewen het, inkorporeer die beste praktyke in kuns, wetenskap, ontwerp en tegnologie en is uitstekend vanweë sy aandag aan detail. - Unieke Eienskappe
- Prism sideboard is inspired by the beauty of gems and the way they capture our attention, how they are cut to enhance the reflection of light. We wanted to create a timeless piece that is romantic, yet sharp. We see our work as ‘functional art’, we wish for its mirroring metallic top to be a source of creativity for the beholder. It can reflect a beautiful ceiling, the trees outside the window, or the skyscrapers in the city, or the owner's favourite object placed on it.

- The body of the cabinet is constructed in a way so we could use offcuts from other projects.
Dark wood sideboard: Ethically sourced PEFC certified Tasmanian oak furniture board + Rimex stainless steel mirror made from minimum 50% recycled steel. Eco-friendly, recyclable glass beads are used to etch the steel.
Light wood sideboard: Ethically sourced PEFC certified Scandinavian Birch plywood + Rimex stainless steel gold mirror made from minimum 50% recycled steel. Eco-friendly, recyclable glass beads are used to etch the steel. - Ontwerpuitdaging
- We put a lot of thoughts in to the angles and positions of the panels, as well as the general proportions of our sideboard. We wanted to find the perfect balance between round and sharp.
- Navorsing
- We have researched and been inspired by vintage cabinets from multiple eras that all had in common that they were elaborated and seemed to be designed from a perspective with art and beauty in focus. We wanted to design a sideboard that have all of above mentioned but yet feels very modern and sharp in it's design. The durable mirroring metal top part is the most exclusive material of the furniture and will be able to mirror the world of the beholder for generations.

We wanted to design a sideboard that has all of the above mentioned but yet feels very modern and sharp in its design. Prism sideboard is inspired by the beauty of gems and the way they capture our attention, how they are cut to enhance the reflection of light.

- Anna's and Mac's collaboration with Prism sideboard started in May 2024 in Sydney and finished in Sydney January 2025.
