"أرويرا" منزل عائلي صُمّم ليكون مسكنًا لعطلات نهاية الأسبوع والإجازات في البرتغال. يقع المنزل بين غابات الصنوبر ومشاهد الشاطئ، ويضفي التصميم إحساسًا بالاسترخاء على تفاصيل الحياة اليومية. تخلق النوافذ الزجاجية الواسعة تواصلًا دائمًا مع الخارج وتتيح دخول قدر وافر من الضوء الطبيعي. يضم التوزيع الداخلي أربعة أجنحة نوم، ومكتبًا في الميزانين، وغرفة معيشة، وغرفة طعام، وغرفة ألعاب، ومطبخًا. نُفِّذت جميع التشطيبات وقطع الأثاث حسب الطلب بأعمال نجارة برتغالية. وقد جرى دمج جدار المدفأة والخزائن المزدوجة الارتفاع ضمن العمارة نفسها.

- Unique Properties
- The Atelier designed a family home that works as a weekend and vacation home, with four suites (for the couple, son, guests, and mother), office, living, dining room, and mezzanine. Some striking features of this house are the several social spaces and constant contact with the outside through large-scaled glass windows, which promote extensive natural light. They were responsible for defining and choosing all the finishes and coating materials (including all the bathrooms). They designed structural pieces such as the fireplace wall and double ceiling height cabinets integrated into the architecture and styled all rooms.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- Aroeira is a three-floor house, where they designed the ground and top floors. The ground floor is 215.09 m2, divided into several spaces: the entry hall (10.71 m2), living room (55.48 m2), game room (23.40 m2), dining room (19.44 m2). The top floor is 143.78 m2 and is divided into a mezzanine/office (30.89 m2). On its left, there is the master suite (49.18 m2). On its right, there is the mother-in-law suite (25.47 m2). There is also the child's suite (38.24 m2).

- The whole project was custom-made, as it is usual practice in the Atelier.
They developed 3D renders and floor plans throughout this home's design to best support their ideas and showed their client what their interior design project would resemble. Concerning furniture, all of the pieces were designed by the Atelier and manufactured with Portuguese carpentry. Taking advantage of contemporary architecture characteristics, they extended these moderns lines towards the furniture pieces. - Design Challenge
- During this project, the Atelier had to overcome several challenges to achieve the result the clients looked for. For example, the double ceiling height in the living room and the size of the place were a challenge since they needed to create a cozy space. As a result, they designed furniture that was larger than standard and built visually appealing elements to fill the room, such as the fireplace wall.
- Research
- They designed this house according to the clients' taste, who appreciated the mix of the contemporary with rustic styles, with a sophistication flare.
The beauty of the surrounding of this house struck the Atelier. Therefore, they wanted to create spaces that integrated this forest and beach mix and turned them into relaxing spaces that allowed the clients to enjoy nature at its best. Other factors they took into considerations were these clients' trips and the places where they lived before. Hence the Atelier research African-inspired pieces and incorporated the ones the clients already had. - Inspiration
- Among outstanding pine forest and beachy landscape surroundings was Ana Rita Soares - Interior Design Atelier starting point to develop a family home that provided the necessary sophistication to guide the daily grind activities with a sense of relaxation, typical of a holiday home. Another inspiration was the client's trips to Africa. The Atelier incorporated several pieces from the client's collection and mixed them with natural wood elements to bring the ethnic style that resonated with their preferences.
- Project Duration
- This project started during the house construction in 2018, and they finished it in 2021. The house location is in Aroeira, Portugal.
- Operation Flow
- They wanted it to keep the rooms welcoming. When coming into the house, there is the entry hall with a sculptured lamp. The ground floor has the guest apartment, a social bathroom, a game room, a living room, a dining room, and a kitchen. While moving upstairs, the Atelier used the staircase to showcase art pieces. On the upper floor, there is a mezzanine/office space facing the living room. Looking left, the master suite, and, on the right, the mother-in-law's suite and the child's bedroom.
