About Grand Children Palace Erkən Təhsil Mərkəzi
Grand Children Palace Çində, Quanjou şəhərində yerləşən erkən təhsil mərkəzidir. Mərkəz keçmiş bir fabrik binasının daxilində 680 kvadratmetrlik sahəni tutur. Ortada yerləşən xaç formalı açıq məkan tədbirlər, dərslər və sərbəst oyunlar üçün istifadə olunur. Qapı və divarların sayı minimuma endirilib, bununla da fəaliyyət otaqları ilə mərkəzi məkan bir-biri ilə əlaqəli və vizual olaraq açıq qalır. Uşaqları kəşf etməyə həvəsləndirmək üçün interyer boyunca kiçik deşiklər yerləşdirilib. İstifadə olunan materiallara ekoloji emulsiya boya, ağac şponu, palıd döşəmə örtüyü və keramik plitələr daxildir. Bir çox detal uşaqların təhlükəsizliyi və rahatlığı nəzərə alınaraq layihələndirilib.

- Unique Properties

The cross-shape open space in the middle of the center provided more possibilities for teacher and external organization to hold events and classes.

- Production Technology
- Main materials: eco emulsion paint, wood veneer, oak floor and ceramic tiles. This project has deatails which are special designed for children's safety and comfort. Small holes are created throughout the space to encourage children to explore and play.
- Design Challenge
- We removed part of the factories ceiling due to its poor conditions, which lead to two unexpected gaps between the brick wall and the arc rooftop that exposed the exterior facade. On top of that, the fire protection of the factory did not satisfy the requirements of a facility for educational purposes. As result, we managed to reconstruct the ceiling and fulfill the fire protection requirements, under very limited budget.
- Research
- In Southern China, most of early learning centers only have separate classrooms for children to learn and play. But usually this kind of classroom is small and it would have a restriction on children and parents while playing and studying. And clients want this early learning centers to be a place for children to feel free without too much limitation. In the end, we design an open space to meet the wish of client without using the traditional space planing.
- Inspiration
- We took the Grand Palais as the reference for early learning center design, because the Grand Palais has a spacious open space, housing various artistic events of Paris. What if we could give the early learning center much more space for future events and playground? The idea would save budget for clients, better business plan for propaganda, better place for hosting events and more ideal way for teaching and playing. In the end, we keep a big comfortable space in the middle of the center.
- Project Duration
- This project started in April 2018, and finished in August 2018 in Guangzhou, China.
- Operation Flow
- The design of this learning center allows the students to interact in the building with freedom and creativity. Unlike traditional learning centers, the activity spaces and the central open scape are interconnected, obstacles such as doors and walls are minimized, the connection between spaces generate a sense of transparency. This encourages inhabitants, whether students or teachers, to interact with the functions of spaces and each other more frequently.
