About Renewal of Lu Xun's Hometown

The design focuses on the contradiction between historical, cultural preservation and modern urban development. It proposed a scheme that meets with many legal and regulatory requirements on height, material, color and form, and comprehensively solves the issues of safety, fire protection and traffic.
Research
We had made research on local history through books, archives and interviews with local scholars. We had negotiated with local people on issues include economic interests and social services to protect their best interests and improve their life quality. Ultimately, we have proposed a win-win solution for all parties.
Inspiration
The design is inspired by the texture of the traditional Chinese waterfront towns and cities. It restores the traditional scenes by restoring waterways for black awning boats, historical streets and alleys, bridges and old names of places.
