About JAM Vision Track3 Muntura d'ulleres
JAM Vision Track3 és una muntura d'ulleres dissenyada per tenir un baix impacte ambiental. Les façanes i les puntes estan fetes de PA11 mitjançant fabricació additiva, cosa que limita el malbaratament de material. Les patilles i el pont estan tallats amb làser a partir d'acer inoxidable totalment reciclat. Cada muntura es fabrica sota comanda, evitant així l'estoc i els excedents. Totes les peces s'uneixen mecànicament, sense soldadura ni cola, de manera que una sola peça es pot substituir si es trenca. Una xarnera magnètica patentada elimina la necessitat de cargols i s'ha provat amb 100.000 cicles de plegament sense pèrdua de rendiment. La muntura completa pesa menys de 20 grams.

- Unique Properties
- The Eyewear is fully sustainable, economical, made on demand, and innovative. Thanks to additive manufacturing and Laser cut stainless steel 100% recycled, made on demand, the project is eco-responsible without creating wasted product. Thanks to the patented simple hinges and the clipping system, it could be assembled even by the end user ! Also, as the patented hinge is based on magnetic elements, the hinge is life lasting (100.000 folding test has been made, without any loss performance !)

- Production Technology

- Design Challenge
- When we decided to launch a brand, we decided that the footprint of this line needs to be as minimum as possible. The eyewear industry use to work with classical soustractive solution (80% of the raw material is trashed), and fixed assembly solution (riveted, soldered, shouted). We decided to start with a brand new method, work in additive, source only eco responsible material, and mechanical easy assembly, to eventually leave the customer to do it by himself.
- Inspiration
- We were inspired by Ikea, for the easy assembly, and also by the old metal toys to be bend and assembly. Then, lines are inspired by minimalism Japanese spirit, and engineering achievement that we learnt working with some high-end customer (like McLaren). Hinges came thanks to my passion for magnets
- Project Duration
- 8 months of creation and pre-production, designed in Lyon, France
- Operation Flow
- This frame is obtained by easy assembly between parts after high personalization of each parts, made on demand, without high stock. All the elements are easy to remove in order to replace just one part in case of breakage. The hinge itself has been tested with 100.000 folding, without any reduction of performance, which push the boundaries of every other ones resistance.
