About Rollerback Cadira de menjador

Rollerback és una cadira de menjador dissenyada per adaptar-se a diferents tipus de cos. El coixí posterior gira lliurement sobre una barra, de manera que la persona asseguda pot recolzar-se a l'esquena i trobar diverses posicions per seure mentre continua rebent suport. L'estructura està soldada amb barra d'acer massís, i la tapisseria de cuir cobreix coixins de escuma fets a mida. La forma combina tres figures geomètriques bàsiques, el triangle, el cercle i el rectangle, per aconseguir un aspecte senzill. Rollerback pretén fer que menjar sigui més còmode permetent el moviment en lloc d'una única postura fixa.

Unique Properties: Every person has a different body, and no single dining chair caters to everyone because of that. The Rollerback Dining chair attempts to be a chair for all by allowing the person seated to relax into the back and roll the rear cushion as needed to fit their body. The chair combines the 3 basic geometric shapes, triangle, circle, and rectangle, to make a aesthetically pleasing yet simple design. The freely rotating cushion provides support while allowing you full range of motion, creating a comfortable and kinetic chair.

Production Technology: The chair was welded from solid steel bar and features leather upholstery over custom foam cushions. The rear cushion is mounted on a rod that allows it to freely rotate, while providing support.
Design Challenge: The most difficult part of this chair was mounting the rear cushion. The thin steel bar frame needs to be drilled out very precisely to allow for the support rod of the cushion to slot in.
Inspiration: Timothy designed the Rollerback dining chair to allow people to be more comfortable while dining. The common dining chair is uncompromising and does not allow for movement while seated. The Rollerback chair features a freely rotating cushion mounted on a rod that allows for multiple sitting positions to keep people more comfortable while seated, while still providing support.
Project Duration: The project started in March and ended in June 2022 in San Francisco
Operation Flow: This dining chair is meant to be used however it suits the person seated. The chair provides the essential support that a chair needs to, while letting roll into the back of the chair and get comfortable.
