Production Technology: Cloudraw is realized as a cloud-based digital system combining scalable computation with a browser-based interface. The platform is designed to dynamically allocate computational resources based on user demand, enabling large-scale image generation while maintaining a responsive, real-time experience.
Design Challenge: The central challenge of the project was transforming generative scale into meaningful user choice. While producing a large number of images expands creative possibilities, it also risks overwhelming users and reducing clarity rather than enhancing it.
Research: The project is informed by observational research into how users engage with AI-assisted creative tools, with particular attention to patterns of exploration, comparison, and selection. This research revealed that limited output per generation and repeated trial-and-error often lead to decision fatigue and fragmented creative workflows.
Inspiration: Generative image creation is inherently uncertain: the same prompt can produce dramatically different results, making selection and iteration a slow and frustrating process.
Project Duration: The project was initiated in 2024 as an independent digital design initiative and has been continuously developed and deployed as an online platform. Cloudraw is accessible globally through the web.
Operation Flow: Users interact with Cloudraw through a simple, browser-based interface designed around a single intentional action. A creative session begins with a text description, a reference image, or a combination of both. Instead of adjusting complex parameters or repeatedly issuing commands, users initiate image generation with one action.
