About Place Veřejné zařízení

Place je veřejné zařízení v Tchaj-peji na Tchaj-wanu s celkovou plochou 350 metrů čtverečních a interiérem o rozloze 106 metrů čtverečních. Design přejímá prvky lázeňského domu, patia a terasy. Kovová konstrukce umožňuje návštěvníkům prohlédnout si prostor skrz naskrz, kde se snoubí sluneční světlo s futuristickými prvky. Překrývající se kovové tyče a odrazy světla směřují pozornost k původní architektuře. Vodní prvek u vstupu spojuje kov a kámen a ponechává prostor pro růst rostlin. Bílé ocelové schodiště propojuje nádvoří se střešní terasou.

Production Technology
The designer used a lot of metal construction to make people be able to see through; sunlight and sci-fi elements are fused together into the elegant space. Besides, by overlapping the metal bars and reflection, the designer would like to lead people appreciate the original architecture through the lines. The waterscape by the entrance merges with metal and stone material, vacating the space for plants to grow, which presents the symbiosis of inorganic and organic.
Design Challenge
Looking out the window, the courtyard is another virtual reality. The indoor elements extend radially to the outdoors with the common centre point. Along with the building, the stepped platform is paved with wood panels radially to solve the poor drainage.
Inspiration
Inspired from history, culture and life, the designer tried to create a space for people to feel immersive while walking into it.
Project Duration
The project finished in January 2021 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Operation Flow
People experience the process of observing and being observed through the white metal bars, glass, and mirror, figuring out the nature of objects. The white steel ladder connects the courtyard with rooftop where the view is broad; surrounded by greenery, people can relax their minds here.
