About Sarajevo 1984 Winter Olympics Výstava
Olympijské muzeum je věnováno XIV zimním olympijským hrám konaným v Sarajevu v roce 1984. Sídlí v historické budově, která byla ostřelována a těžce zničena na začátku války v roce 1992. Sbírky muzea spojují sport a umění a vyprávějí příběh olympiády v Sarajevu prostřednictvím sportovního vybavení, historických dokumentů, fotografií, videodokumentace a medailí. Mapa světové grafiky – umění a sport poskytuje umělecký pohled na hry, shromažďuje díla mezinárodních umělců, jako jsou Andy Warhol a Henry Moore, spolu s umělcem z Bosny a Hercegoviny.

- Production Technology
- This design tries to incorporate historical building with the spirit of the eighties and needs of modern gallery space.
- Design Challenge
- The museum was destroyed during the war and only part of the exhibition and artefacts survived. We need to reconstruct some of the elements and recreate the look and feel of that time.
Also, regarding the memory of the old museum, this new one is dedicated to today’s generations and visitors. So, we need to evoke the memory and atmosphere of the ’84 Olympics and to offer some new experiences for visitors. - Inspiration
- The visual design of the space was approached respecting and invoking the spirit of the 80s, with the aim of evoking emotions and memories of the event itself, emphasizing the recognizability of graphic motifs, colors and styles, incorporating them with exhibits and videos.
- Project Duration
- This project was done between 2021-2022. It is still not finished, and collection is constantly updated.
- Operation Flow
- The ground floor is intended for general acquittance with the Olympics and the history of the winter sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The welcoming quote from the opening ceremony with torch and main wall with WOG ’84, are ideal for putting visitor in atmosphere of that time and make photos or selfies.
The first floor is reserved for arenas, results and atmosphere from main sport events. In extension, there is presentation of EYOF 2019 as continuation of that Olympic story.
Also, there is the collection “Art and sport” from major artists of that time. - Image Credits
