About Silence Mirror Interiérový design bytu

Silence Mirror je interiérový design zrekonstruovaného bytu na Tchaj-wanu. Byt má rozlohu 112,3 metrů čtverečních a nachází se v padesát let staré budově. Rovné linie a jednoduché hmoty vyjadřují klid zenové estetiky. Minerální barva pokrývá velké plochy stěn a pod světlem vykazuje skvrnitou přirozenou texturu. Velkoformátové obklady omezují viditelné spáry a travertin dodává povrchu jemný charakter. Přebytečné příčky byly odstraněny, aby se rozšířila prostupnost prostoru a zvětšila společenská zóna. Úložné prostory jsou soustředěny do centrálních zón, což omezuje množství skříněk a udržuje místnosti uspořádané.

Unique Properties
Straight lines and simple blocks with natural materials interpret the calmness and aesthetics of Zen, giving modern spaces a unique sense of tranquility and harmony. In terms of storage and circulation planning, the designers minimized the necessary walking distance, making each step natural and smooth. Storages are concentrated in core areas to minimize cabinetry. This maximizes storage functionality while allowing the occupants to be minimized from the inner self to the home.
Dimensions & Packaging
The site is 112.3 square meters of 50-year-old apartment including a balcony, with 2 plus 1 rooms, a living room, a dining room, and 2 bathrooms. The original 3-room layout made the circulation narrow. Considering the space serves only two people, the designers removed the extra compartments and rearranged the layout to expand the social area and pet activity space. They removed walls in the kitchen and two rooms and replaced the study room door with a sliding glass door to increase flexibility. The toilet is also enlarged, and storage is added.

Production Technology
Materials: mineral paint, travertine, tiles, wood veneer, eco-friendly latex paint, etc. The project is characterized by straight lines and flat shapes. To add more layers between the blocks, the designers chose to cover large areas of the walls with paint. The mottled natural texture of the mineral paint creates a variety of layers when exposed to light. Large-size tiles minimize the lines in the space. Finally, the undecorated travertine gives the space a delicate texture under the simple material composition.
Design Challenge
The designers were faced with material, structural, and detailing challenges. All three require precise calculations and in-depth understanding. The first step was to upgrade the electrical plumbing system to address the limitations and pitfalls of the old building. Then, according to the design concept, the core of the project was to balance functionality and aesthetics through reduction. The designers worked through trial and error to achieve the perfect result. Each section was carefully planned to ensure that the result was aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Inspiration
The project is a renovation of an old apartment.
