About Waveform Příborník

Skleněné police a přepážky organizují vnitřní prostor a propouštějí světlo. Podstavec je vyroben z obdélníkových skleněných dílů.

Unique Properties
This sideboard explores rhythm and movement through a sculptural waveform pattern that envelops its entire form, fronts, sides, and back. The dynamic surface is composed of individually arranged blue glass slats, each of varying length and placed by hand, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike. The glass elements create shifting visual effects as light interacts with their texture and tone. The core structure of the sideboard is built from mdf slats finished in a satin white lacquer.
Dimensions & Packaging
Product dimensions: Width 1780 mm, Depth 570 mm, Hight 800 mm. Materials: mdf, glass. Finish: satin white lacquer

Production Technology
The sideboard’s front, sides, and back feature a sound waveform pattern created from aquamarine glass and mdf slats. Elements are hand-assembled and glued together. The core structure is made from mdf slats assembled accordingly to the glass waveform pattern. All elements are finished with satin white lacquer. Internal dividers and shelves are made of glass to ensure unobstructed travel of light inside the piece for visual effect. The base is made od rectangular pieces of glass.
Design Challenge
The main challenge was to turn irregular mdf and glass slats into a cohesive and visually compelling surface. Achieving the waveform pattern required precise sorting, cutting and arranging of varying mdf and glass pieces while maintaining structural integrity and aesthetic flow.
Research
This design investigates the intersection of functional furniture and sculptural expression through the application of rhythmic, light-reactive surfaces. By integrating glass slats of varying lengths into a continuous pattern, the project explores how material repetition and irregularity can create a unique visual effect. Each glass element is manually placed ensuring pattern uniqueness. The contrast between blue glass and white lacquer highlights the tension between ornament and structure.
Inspiration
Inspired by the visual language of sound and color of ocean waves, this sideboard features a continuous decorative pattern across its fronts, sides, and back, echoing the rhythmic flow of a waveform. The design captures the dynamic energy of sound in a tactile form, transforming audio into a visual and functional expression. The blue color of glass slats remind of the warm blue ocean waters.
Operation Flow
The sideboard features three discreetly integrated doors that open with integrated glass handles, preserving the continuity of the flowing waveform pattern. Inside, transparent glass dividers and shelves organize the interior without interrupting the sense of lightness and visual depth. The use of glass inside allows light to pass through and subtly echo the luminous quality of the blue glass slats on the exterior. The design encourages exploration of texture and observing the play of light.
