About K11 Musea Canolfan Siopa
Mae K11 Musea yn ddyluniad mewnol canolfan siopa sydd wedi'i lleoli ar lan y dŵr Tsim Sha Tsui yn Hong Kong. Mae'r cyfadeilad manwerthu a chelf deg llawr yn cwmpasu cyfanswm arwynebedd llawr o 1.1 miliwn troedfedd sgwâr. Yn ei ganol mae atriwm 35 metr o uchder o'r enw Opera Theatre, lle mae 1,800 o oleuadau sbot rhaglenadwy wedi'u gosod yn y nenfwd i awgrymu galaeth o sêr. Mae cerflun uwchben y grisiau symudol yn atgoffa rhywun o wreiddiau bwtres coed banyan lleol. Mae'r arwynebau wedi'u gorchuddio ag efydd wedi'i grefftio â llaw a gwaith paent gwledig. Caiff dŵr glaw ei gynaeafu ar gyfer dyfrhau, ac mae system aerdymheru heb olew sy'n cael ei hoeri gan ddŵr môr yn lleihau'r defnydd o ynni.

- Unique Properties
- K11 reinvigorate the mall together with 100 creative powers hailing from different disciplines and cultures, to make K11 MUSEA the Silicon Valley of Culture and inject art, architecture, design, sustainability and all forms of culture into the new consumer’s daily life.
At the core is a 35m high atrium dubbed Opera Theatre, which features hundreds of 1,800 programmable spotlights to resemble a galaxy, evoking curiosity and creativity, taking the form of a galaxy and mysterious body of stars. - Dimensions & Packaging
- Total floor area is 1.1m sqft

- Production Technology
- In order to create the sparkling galaxy in the Opera Theatre, we identify each light and adjusting their illumination one by one through a diverse range of lighting intensities.
The interior is cladded in handcrafted palettes of rich bronze and rustic paintwork by local artist.
The project gained LEED Gold and BEAM Plus Gold Standard. Rainwater harvesting provides full of irrigation water, while seawater cooled, oil free heating, ventilation and air con. system reduces energy consumption. - Design Challenge
- The main challenge is to have everyone buy in on the new concept of cultural retail, and that they are building a manor house not a mall. Every artist, designer and architect has their own creative vision and way of working, so the curation was not exactly easy. Also, we had to bring all of them together to form one cohesive and seamless ecosystem that is more than K11 MUSEA, but also the wider Victoria Dockside.
- Research
- Conceived as a Silicon Valley of Culture, the design team was assembled by K11 founder Adrian Cheng and forms part of the 100 creative powers involved in shaping the dialogue in the district and sets to defy traditional concepts of retail design. K11 MUSEA is the result of an international cultural exchange, where cross discipline and cross border practices in art, craft, culture, architecture, interior design, technology gastronomy and sustainability worked in tandem.
- Inspiration
- Much more than just a place to shop, it celebrates culture, art and design. The inspiration was for it to be A Muse by the Sea. Meticulously positioned lights line the ceiling of the Opera Theatre, creating a galaxy of creativity. The Ball feature serves as a focal point for the viewer, whilst furthering the illusion of looking up into space. Meanwhile, the sprawling sculpture stretching over the escalator is reminiscent of the famous buttress roots from Hong Kong banyan trees.
- Project Duration
- K11 has spent ten years from 2009 to 2019 considering almost every detail of his bold new ten-storey retail-and-art complex, designed to appeal to brand-savvy millennial. K11 Musea is the last segment of the ambitious US2.6b Victoria Dockside cultural district on a 28 hectare site on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront.
- Operation Flow
- K11 founder Adrian Cheng reinvigorate the district together with 100 creative powers hailing from different disciplines and cultures, to make K11 Musea the Silicon Valley of Culture and inject art, architecture, design, sustainability and all forms of cultures into the new consumer daily life. People come here to be inspired and to learn.
