About Accordio Tŷ Anifail Anwes

Mae Accordio yn dŷ anifail anwes cludadwy wedi'i wneud o silicon. Mae'r corff ysgafn yn plygu fel acordion, felly gellir cario'r tŷ yn hawdd yn ystod gweithgareddau awyr agored a theithio. Mae'r wyneb silicon yn syml i'w lanhau. Mae gwasgu'r ddwy ochr yn cywasgu'r tŷ i chweched ran o'i faint llawn. Mae wyth ffrâm fagnetig gadarnhaol yn darparu sefydlogrwydd strwythurol ac yn dal y ffurf gwympedig at ei gilydd, gan gadw'r siâp yn wastad ac yn gryno. Mae clustog ffabrig yn ffitio y tu mewn i'r tŷ gwympedig ar gyfer cludiant cyfleus.

Tags: Pet House, Collapsible Pet House, Accordion House
Production Technology: Accordio is made with silicone. Each magnetic frame (a total of 8) is reinforced for structural stability. Once collapsed, these frames adhere each other and keep it compact and portable.
Design Challenge: The biggest challenge was how to keep accordio in a flattened shape when it is collapsed. Several ways were explored such as snap buttons, strap and etc. Amongst them, magnetic frames were chosen to be an ideal solution as they could provide structural stability as well as visual clarity.
Research: Accordio is a design study about portable pet houses. The design explores the use of silicone for pet housing. The light-weighted and safe nature of silicone provides many potentials for a portable pet house.
Inspiration: Accordio was first inspired by my niece's silicone bowl plate. I was intrigued by its flexibility and portability. After some research, I found that silicone also has a fascinating collapsible feature, which was later adopted into a foldable house.
Project Duration: The project started in June 2020 in Calgary, Canada and finished in July 2020 in Banff, Canada.
Operation Flow: This silicone house can be compressed in a 1/6 size by pushing both sides. A fabric cushion can be conveniently fit into the collapsed form for portability.
