About Toke Silff Lyfrau Addurniadol
Silff lyfrau bwrdd addurniadol yw Toke a ddyluniwyd ar gyfer gofodau mewnol. Mae sffêr o bren pisgwydd caboledig gyda diamedr o 16 centimetr yn eistedd yng nghanol y dyluniad ac yn gweithredu fel cynhaliad a phwynt cydbwysedd. Mae'r sffêr yn symud gyda disgyrchiant ac yn cadw'r llyfrau mewn trefn. Gwneir y ffrâm o wialen fetel wedi'i phlygu'n arbennig a phlât metel wedi'i dorri, wedi'u huno trwy weldio a'u gorffen â phaent powdr electrostatig. Mae Toke yn mesur 18 centimetr o uchder, 49 centimetr o led ac 16.5 centimetr o ddyfnder. Mae'r ffurf syml yn addas ar gyfer ystafelloedd byw, ystafelloedd gwely, bwytai, caffis a siopau.

*Polished limewood globe with a diameter of 16 cm
*0.4 mm cnc cut metal plate - Design Challenge
- Selecting and processing the appropriate natural material, polishing it to the correct color after processing. Selecting the correct metal sheet and rod, and joining them together after bending and cutting methods.
- Research
- When designing Toke, it was crucial to select the right material for the sphere at its center. We debated extensively between beech, hornbeam, or walnut. Because exotic woods are generally expensive, we settled on linden, which was readily available locally. Its soft texture made it easy to work with and polish.
For the metal, we strived to select dimensions and thicknesses that could be easily machined on cnc and bending machines. We then engaged local craftsmanship and assembled the parts using welding.
We tried to evaluate different color options for the metal part. We chose both electrostatic paint and gold and silver plating as alternative methods. - Inspiration
- Toke's story is built on the theme of "Balance point and the flow of knowledge." Toke acts as a bridge, holding, displaying, and elegantly balancing precious information (books). The wooden sphere, the central element of the design, forms the weight and focal point of the entire system, creating an illusion of gravity by balancing the books' position. This reflects the idea that knowledge is a central force that keeps our minds and lives in balance.
- Project Duration
- The project began in istanbul, Türkiye, in January 2025. The first prototype was released in May 2025. Mass production began in July 2025.
- Operation Flow
- The sphere in Toke moves thanks to gravity and balances the books on it, ensuring they stay in order.
