Knót Artesanal

Knót was formed between Brazilian architect Renata Gutierrez (nó) and British woodworker James Rowland (knot), both passionate about the beauty, tones and textures of wood. Inspired by natural forms and the simple things in life, knót believes in the importance of fine details, in the return to working with your hands and in taking pleasure in what you do. Their intention is to create simple contemporary designs using only pure materials and natural finishes.

Knót Artesanal stands among the honorees of the prestigious A' Design Award & Competition, with winning entries in Furniture and Lighting. The track record of Knót Artesanal includes 6 A' Design Awards, crowned by the Silver A' Design Award. Knót Artesanal has been recognized repeatedly in the Furniture category. The verdict on the work of Knót Artesanal came from an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and journalists, who scored anonymized entries against predetermined criteria.

The awards were granted between the 2017 - 2018 and 2021 - 2022 editions of the A' Design Award & Competition, a span that reflects sustained creative excellence. The achievements of Knót Artesanal earned the World Design Rating title Outstanding Professional. Knót Artesanal represents Brazil among the award-winning creators of Designers.org.
