Erkeengelen Michael er et indrammet quilling-stykke, som Niamh skabte. Hendes inspiration til at skabe dette Quilling stykke af Ærkeengelen Michael kom fra hendes mor. Da hendes bedstemor var meget syg, var Niamhs mor i deres bil, og badget til Ærkeengel Michael faldt fra spejlet i lommen, da hendes bedstemor døde, og dette gav dem alle trøst, vel vidende at hun blev beskyttet. Målet er at skabe en første indflydelse, når seeren observerer stykket, hvorfra det trækker seerne øje nærmere for at se de involverede detaljer.

Unique Properties: Archangel Michael is a Framed Quilling piece that Niamh has created. She designed and created it by hand using 3mm strips of coloured card.

Production Technology: 3mm card, A1 board, PVA Glue, A1 brown wooden frame with UV protected art glass.
Design Challenge: The process challenges that Niamh came across when creating this piece was knowing when to finish it. Each and every strip of paper was individually cut and shaped and she found it was difficult to know when he was filled in enough without it looking bare in certain areas or adding too much to it.
Research: Before starting this quilling Niamh did research into what it is that best represents Archangel Michael. All of the elements and colours have been specifically chosen to create Archangel Michael as authentic as possible.
Inspiration: Niamh's inspiration for creating this Quilling piece of Archangel Michael came from her mother. When her grandmother was ill her mother was in their car and the badge for Archangel Michael fell from the mirror into her pocket as she passed away and this gave them all comfort knowing that she was being protected. Niamh created this piece for her mother.
Project Duration: The project started in March 2018 in The Aran Islands and in the end of April 2018.
Operation Flow: Archangel Michael is hanging at the entrance of their guest house to greet everyone that enters their home. The aim is to create an impact as the viewer observes the piece, from this it draws the viewers eye closer to see the details involved.
