About Gloria Ring, Armband

Gloria ist eine Schmuckkollektion, die einen Ring und ein Armband umfasst. Der Entwurf ist vom Nimbus inspiriert – jenem leuchtenden Ring, den Künstler als Zeichen der Tugend um die Köpfe von Heiligen malen. Die Hauptschienen des Rings sowie der Korpus des Armbands werden von Hand aus Draht geformt. Auch die Steine werden von Hand aus natürlichen Materialien hergestellt, ohne chemische Farben oder Zusatzstoffe, sodass sie in die Natur zurückkehren können. Die Stücke lassen sich einzeln tragen oder miteinander kombinieren, wodurch sich Form und Funktion verändern lassen. Die Absicht ist es, die Erhebung des menschlichen Geistes in einem tragbaren Objekt zum Ausdruck zu bringen.

Production Technology: The main shanks of the ring and the body of the bracelet are made by wire handforming and the stones’ materials are totally natural and environment friendly and in fact, no sort of chemical colors or substances has been used during the process of making.
Design Challenge: After searching in various features of natural materials, manifold techniques were tested to specify the optimal crafting method; so eventually a crafting process was selected out of sustainable and unique methods for making the stones of this collection.
Research: The design data of this collection and specially its stones, are garnered through information gathering and field & empirical studies.
Inspiration: (Gloria), In the dictionary it means halo, worshiping and praying of God the Almighty.The halo is a luminous ring which artists paint around the head of Saints or Mormons; this was used as the inspiration of the design.
Project Duration: This project started in 2017 and ended in 2019 after making the preliminary prototypes.
