The Design
About PowerTronex H1 Dockingstation
PowerTronex H1 ist eine USB-C-Dockingstation für Laptops und Mobiltelefone. Das Gerät bietet bis zu acht Schnittstellen, darunter drei USB-C-Anschlüsse, zwei USB-3.0-Anschlüsse und einen HDMI-Anschluss. 4K-Videoübertragung und PD-Schnellladen werden unterstützt. Das einteilige Gehäuse aus Aluminiumlegierung ist eloxiert und damit kratzfest, korrosionsbeständig und wärmeableitend. Ein Lichtband mit Farbverlauf zeigt an, dass die Dockingstation in Betrieb ist. Das Kabel wird in einer Nut verstaut und lässt sich zur Nutzung herausziehen, wodurch das Produkt tragbar und kompakt bleibt. Die Abmessungen betragen 152 x 41 x 13 mm.

- Unique Properties
- PowerTRONEX H1 provides up to 8 interfaces. It supports 4K video transmission and PD fast charging protocol. Through it, users can easily read, transfer data on computers or mobile phones (with Type-C interface). The aluminum alloy shell brings excellent scratch and corrosion resistance and great heat dissipation performance.
The indicator light adopts the gradual changing light strip of family brand style, which is harmonious and aesthetic. Its cable is stored in the groove，and slides out to use, which makes the product portable, concise and integrated . - Dimensions & Packaging

- Design Challenge
- It’s hard to integrate the whole system. The product is in an appropriate size of a normal hub but we fuse 8 high-performance interfaces in it. It’s a hard for the designers and engineers to work together to seek a solution that contains all the components in such shape and size.
- Inspiration
- In recent years, mobile phones are becoming more smart while the laptop on the market have been in the trend of extreme thinness, also has brought super portable experience to users. More and more users do not like the single interface, because it is not convenient to satisfy the basic data and image transmission needs. For these problems，designers have integrated the functions of the product,so that it has powerful performance driven,smooth and comfortable product appearance，lightweight and recyclable materials.
- Project Duration
- The project started in April 2019 and finished in December 2020 in Shanghai.
- Operation Flow
- Users slide out the cable and connect it with laptops or smart phones （with Type-C interface), the gradual changing light lights up as the device works. Then they insert USB flash disk,hard disk or TF/SD card etc. and can easily read, transfer data and video on the laptop or smart phone.
