About Passerine Stuhl

- Unique Properties
- The approach to the chair design is for it to be sustainable and durable. This meant that materials, the system and processes had to be perlustrated. And the result was a design that bears unassuming characteristics, with a bit of that modern charm. The chair is more than just a well-balanced form, there is also the beauty in its honest materials and its pragmatic utility.

- Production Technology
- Its materials and construction techniques are familiar, done with finesse and precision. Uncoated stainless steels that are lathed, bent and knurled. The backrest and seat are made from bent ply. Latex cushions upholstered with leather. All of which are materials and processes that are durable and have a lower impact on the environment compared to other alternatives, with no harsh chemical treatments or unnecessary use of plastic. Future-proofed for a lifetime of use and peace of mind.
- Design Challenge
- The problem with the retailing model in most countries is that closing the loop of a chair’s life cycle makes little business sense, especially for countries with no manufacturing or repair costs more than buying a new one.
- Research
- The Passerine chair is a chair with a more progressive approach in its design. As we approach an era when the preservation of Earth, the environment, and its resources is paramount. Industrialized products such as a chair can pivot into a more sustainable ecosystem without hurting the business' bottom line. What if the chair is designed with fully replaceable and recyclable parts and this will be provided by retailers as a value-added service for a profitable fee? This makes the chair more desirable for both businesses and end-users to adopt.
