About Clip Loungesessel
Clip ist ein Loungesessel, der sowohl für den Außen- als auch für den Innenbereich konzipiert wurde. Die Form von Clip ist von einer Büroklammer inspiriert und verleiht dem Sessel ein leichtes und verspieltes Erscheinungsbild. Das klammerförmige Stahlgestell federt unter dem Gewicht des Nutzers nach und erhöht so den Sitzkomfort. Ein gebogener Metallstab an der Sitzfläche bildet eine Schlaufe, in der kleine Gegenstände abgelegt werden können. Der Sessel wird aus Stahl durch Biegen, Schweißen, Sandstrahlen und Pulverbeschichten gefertigt. Die Verwendung eines einzigen Materials hält die Produktion einfach und begünstigt das Recycling.

- Production Technology
- Material: Steel. This design's production process involves four steps: bending metal pipes, welding, sandblasting, and powder coating. Despite its simplicity, these steps yield a visually striking piece of furniture that boasts both an artistic appearance and a relatively low production cost and difficulty. Also, the recycling process is significantly simplified, with only one material used throughout the chair's design.
- Design Challenge
- When creating the final prototype, it proved challenging to accurately determine the twisting angle and length of the steel rods for the backrest and seat portion. The calculations did not match the computer simulation precisely, making adjustments a significant obstacle to overcome.
- Research
- During the design process, a key consideration for me was how to make furniture more playful. Taking inspiration from the shapes of traditional outdoor chairs and everyday objects found in daily life, I created a form that strikes a balance between elegance and whimsy. The resulting design appears refined and delicate, yet also playful and lighthearted.

- The Clip Chair is a versatile seating option that seamlessly transitions from outdoor to indoor environments. The design of this chair bears a resemblance to a paper clip, lending it a playful and whimsical aesthetic.
