Design Details

Unique Properties
The design techniques to create the nine meters height of eye-catching wall is extremely difficult. The star-shaped logo of this fitness brand is basically made with wooden materials and using strap light to wrap around the surface to create a futuristic lighting effect. The geometric shape pattern above is precisely measured and covered with titanium plate metal, using laser cutting to make geometrical shapes and detailed collages, creating a rich layer of facade.
Inspiration
The design team implements monochromatic tones of black, gray, and white colors together with lighting and clean design elements to perfectly create a high-tech feeling, ingeniously integrate the space with the community environment, and create a gym space that matches with its context and giving a energetic feeling. This workout space not only becomes as a stress relief area for the engineers and workers around the site to avoid the crowds of the traffic after working hours.
Research
As the emphasis at the entrance, the design team uses simple colors and materials to integrate, creating an exquisite, stylish, and eye-catching design in a nine meters high space. The training area and the appropriate layout configuration are distinguished by the stripe lights, and the classroom is integrated with multifunctional design. In response to the thermal heat yoga class, the thermal equipment on the floor and ceiling, yoga belt, and the light colors adjustment to give a diverse and changing space atmosphere.
Challenge
The design team used soft lights and gray sealing plates to separate the external ceiling using scattered slopes, which outlines a clean atmosphere in a white and gray space, supplemented by clear glass curtain and reflective materials on the entire surface, the light and shadow penetration that balance the entire feeling, and the reorganization of the ceiling and complicated pipelines and equipment. The central open ceiling minimizes the pressure, and the irregular shape patterns also partially cover the surrounding area.
Realization and Technology
Sticking to the Simple is Rich concept, the entire project utilizes simple materials and textures on a limited budget to create an exquisite spatial hierarchy with rich design techniques. The whole area using a large number of different shapes of stripe lights and integrated with mirror design, avoiding the plain and boring design pattern, and enhance the overall style to bring an exquisite atmosphere by using paint, concrete paint, and titanium plates.
Operation and Interaction
This project is based on spatial feelings and uses design transformation to give more motivation, creates a space that fulfills both function and aesthetics. The special shower room and the locker space are distinguished by the men and women preferred color schemes, supported with stainless steel material to create storage cabinets, integrating various stone materials, lighting, and acrylic board decorations, stepping out from the ordinary sports center design with the exquisite atmosphere.
Project Duration and Location
This project is located in Neihu District, Taipei City, Taiwan. After five months construction period, this project is completed in May 2020.
Specifications
The design team chose pure design elements and spatial variability created by light lines to create a high tech feeling to the fitness space. As the highlight of the space, the stripe lights are extensively used, which nearly about 1,000 meters of line lights are used in the entire space to create a three dimensional atmosphere through the ceiling, walls, and the areas of the floor. It also serves to define different areas functions, light source, and aesthetics.
