Regarding Nght Architecture Photography

A series about the beauty of sunsets, moonrises, and reflections. Due to the different light conditions during the day the same building can look different each time you look at it. During the retouching process, the buildings get isolated from their environment to bring out the uniqueness of the buildings and to be able to edit the sky. In some cases, they are also manipulated to give it a more surreal touch.

About Simone Hutsch

I’m Simone Hutsch aka heysupersimi, a passionate graphic designer and enthusiastic self-taught architecture photographer from Berlin, Germany and currently living in London, UK. Self-motivated projects as well as commissioned work trigger my curiosity and keep my creative juices flowing. My work combines art and photography and lets people dive into a different world. I’m using my camera to explore the geometry in architecture. Afterwards, I give the buildings a surreal touch in my retouching process. When I’m outside with my camera, I see the world around me with a different eye. Having an imagination of the final piece is key when I take a picture.

Design Details

Unique Properties
A series about the beauty of sunsets, moonrises, and reflections. Glas facades are really fascinating to me. The same building, yet different each time you look at it. Each appearance is unique, especially when the sun is setting, some buildings look incredible such as they were on fire. Featured cities: Berlin and London
Inspiration
I am a passionate graphic designer and self-taught architecture photographer. Exploring geometry in architecture is really exciting to me. My work combines art and photography and lets people dive into a different world. I give the buildings a surreal touch in my retouching process.
Research
I wanted to give myself a challenge with sunset photography since it is quite tricky to catch the right light and reflection. It doesn’t last long and every day looks slightly different.
Challenge
The most challenging part of my work is always the perspective. Angles, pattern, and lines change when one changes the point of view, a good and interesting angle let every building look striking, as well as the time of the day makes a significant difference in the reflection of the glass facades.
Realization and Technology
Canon 7D, Adobe Photoshop
Operation and Interaction
A series of minimal architecture photography that can work as an exhibition in a gallery. All images are available as A4, A3 and A2 prints on high-quality stock (paper) in my online store and ready to frame.
Project Duration and Location
Started taking photos in January 2020 in Berlin and London (during sunsets). Finished editing in March 2020, posted on Behance (feat. in Architecture Photography).
Specifications
Images are available as art prints in A4, A3 and A2.
Keywords
Architecture photography, minimal, building, pastel colours, geometry, clear sky
