About Laser Welding System High Precision
Laser Welding System is a machine for welding individual lithium batteries into power battery packs. The system uses a laser beam with high directivity and high power density as its heat source. An optical system focuses the beam on a small area to melt the joint in a very short time. A manipulator moves the parts, so welding is completed without manual work. The width, energy, peak power and repetition frequency of the laser pulse are controlled. The system measures 8075 by 1920 by 2110 millimetres and improves consistency and productivity.
About Lu Na

About the A' Manufacturing and Processing Machinery Design Award
The A' Machinery Design Award is an international product design competition recognizing good machinery designs by leading designers and brands worldwide. The competition is organized within the A' Design Award & Competition and is open to machinery designers, industrial designers, machinery manufacturing brands and machinery manufacturers from all countries. Entries typically include conveyors, robotics, injection molds, 3D printers, CNC machines and packaging systems. Awarded machinery designs are published at https://designers.org/design-category/machinery
About A' Design Award & Competition
A' Design Award & Competition is an international, juried design accolade organized annually since 2008. The competition is open to entries from all countries. The A' Design Award has a philanthropic mission to advance society through good design by recognizing and promoting superior products, projects and services that benefit society, and by creating a global awareness and appreciation for good design practices and principles. Entries are peer reviewed and anonymously evaluated by an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and press members against predetermined criteria such as functionality, ergonomics, engineering, presentation, innovation, usability, sustainability and technology, with score normalization applied to remove biases. Awards are conferred at Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron levels. The A' Design Prize granted to eligible laureates includes the award trophy, the certificate of design excellence, the hardcover yearbook, a lifetime license to use the A' Design Award winner logo, exhibition of awarded works, an invitation to the gala night and award ceremony in Italy, inclusion in the World Design Rankings and Designer Rankings, and public relations and publicity services. Registration, the upload of a work and the preliminary score are free of charge, and Professional and Digital Edition laureates are not contractually obliged to pay further fees to claim the A' Design Prize. Design Details
- Unique Properties
- The function of this system is to weld independent lithium batteries into power battery packs. The reasonable selection of welding methods and processes will directly affect the cost, quality, safety and consistency of the battery. The laser welding system uses the excellent directivity and high power density of the laser beam, assisted by the manipulator, to melt the welded object in a very short time and form firm solder joints and welds, improving consistency, reliability and productivity.
- Inspiration
- Laser welding has high efficiency and is easy to realize automated production. After continuously improving the welding process and limiting the thermal influence in the forming process, more and more applications are used in actual production. Laser welding with industrial robots is gradually becoming the main force of the automated power battery module production line.
- Research
- The welding of automobile power battery requires a high degree of consistency. This design is for the batch welding of batteries and improve the reliability and efficiency of production. The internal manipulator can complete this work fully and efficiently without unmanned operation.
- Challenge
- The structural design of large-scale equipment is more difficult, and the interaction design between humans and machines
- Realization and Technology
- Laser welding is an efficient and precise welding method that uses a high-energy density laser beam as a heat source. That is, the surface of the workpiece is heated by laser radiation, and the surface heat is diffused to the inside through heat conduction. By controlling the width, energy, peak power and repetition frequency of the laser pulse, etc. Parameters to melt the workpiece.
- Operation and Interaction
- The laser welding system uses the excellent directivity and high power density of the laser beam to work. With the assistance of the manipulator, the optical system focuses the laser beam in a small area to form an energy in the welded area in a very short time. Highly concentrated heat source area, so that the welded object melts and forms a firm solder joint and weld seam.
