The award was conferred within the 2021 - 2022 A' Design Award & Competition and was decided through blind peer review by an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and press members, who assessed anonymized entries against predetermined criteria.

Regarding YY Sports Fitness Club
YY Sports is a fitness club located in Shenyang, in northern China. The interior occupies the top floor of a sports store on a busy commercial street and covers 2000 square meters. The design theme explores the idea of the post-human, a figure shaped by technology and information. Figures were produced with three-dimensional modeling and three-dimensional printing to appear lifelike. Materials include stainless steel, glass, artificial wood, terrazzo, flame retardant fabric and rock wool, with an immersive LED screen. The site was surveyed before modeling.
