More About Noiseless Flower Vase
Noiseless is a hand-thrown porcelain flower vase designed for long or large plants. The form is shaped with a minimum of lines to balance light and shade. The surface is bare porcelain with a soft, smooth texture, and a transparent glaze is applied only inside. Sizes range from 60 by 60 by 110 millimetres to 100 by 100 by 240 millimetres. Each piece is heavy, so long-stemmed flowers remain stable. Placed together, the vases stand like columns and create a quiet monochrome group that can be arranged freely.
About Cuze
Niche and unique ceramic studio in Berlin. They are not restricted to one style and are constantly handcrafting new pieces themselves. Their work ranges from tableware and vases to furniture and artwork. The styles range from minimalist, primitive, modern and contemporary, and fit in with a variety of scenes. It would be somewhat unfitting to talk about them in the field of crafts or ceramics. Somehow I feel the influence of fashion and music. They will also show us very different work in a few years time.
Award Record
With this recognition, Cuze is a winner of 1 A' Design Award.

Design Details
- Unique Properties
- Hand thrown heavy weight porcelain vase for long or big plants. Minimal design & design language. Inspiration comes from sunlight and the shadows cast from it. The surface is pure naked porcelain finish with baby skin texture.
- Inspiration
- Being interested in how the form of an object is expressed by light and shadow the goal was to design a vase with a minimum of lines, carving out a balance between light and shade. The vases are arranged like columns. By leaving the flowers out of the vase, the path of creation for a monochrome silence was pursued. This creates freedom. Freedom in the arrangement of the vases and in the imagination in relation to the arrangement of the flowers.
- Research
- A study of simple, beautiful shapes, exploring the balance between light and shade. The aim was to pursue essential beauty without being distracted by decoration or color. An analog approach served as the source. Light of slightly different colors shines on both sides to accentuate the shadows and contours. Simple and beautiful shapes were formed by carving each of the wheel-thrown porcelain vases by hand. As a result, instead of accentuating the design with decorations and colors, a unique form was found. The characteristics of software do not influence it. It is as pure as it can get.
- Challenge
- The challenge consisted of the difference between the first picture and reality. The first picture to the blue print.
- Realization and Technology
- Hand thrown, porcelain, transparent glaze (only inside)
- Operation and Interaction
- The light and shadows soften the look of this vase and make it suitable for any place. It can also be set to engage with flowers. Made like a weight, this vase, especially with long-stemmed flowers, makes a big difference and gives the impression of deviating from the norm. What you have there is an experience that you can share with others.
