This award acknowledges creations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, reflecting the designer's deep understanding and skill. Silver A' Design Award recipients are recognized for their contribution to raising industry standards and advancing the practice of design. Their work often incorporates original innovations and elicits a strong emotional response, making a notable impact on the improvement of everyday life.
About Smart Wind Turbine Prediction AI System Design
Smart Wind Turbine Prediction is a software interface for the intelligent operation and maintenance of wind farms. The interface uses three-dimensional visualization, virtual simulation and data graphs to show turbine conditions and to locate faults quickly. Machine learning models are configured by dragging and dropping data and model settings, so single or multiple turbine types can be covered. Fault warnings are delivered about twenty minutes earlier on average, and model accuracy reaches 81 percent. Manual maintenance costs and safety risks are reduced.
Award Record
With this recognition, 4Paradigm UED is a winner of 3 A' Design Awards. All of the awards belong to the 2022 - 2023 edition of the A' Design Award & Competition.
About the A' Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design Award
The A' Interface Design Award is an international design competition recognizing good user interface designs by the best UI/UX designers worldwide. The competition is organized within the A' Design Award & Competition and is open to interface designers, interaction designers, user experience designers and digital product designers from all countries. Entries typically include websites, mobile applications, software interfaces, game interfaces, wearable interfaces and virtual reality interfaces. Awarded interface designs are published at https://designers.org/design-category/interface
About A' Design Award & Competition
A' Design Award & Competition is an international, juried design accolade organized annually since 2008. The competition is open to entries from all countries. The A' Design Award has a philanthropic mission to advance society through good design by recognizing and promoting superior products, projects and services that benefit society, and by creating a global awareness and appreciation for good design practices and principles. Entries are peer reviewed and anonymously evaluated by an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and press members against predetermined criteria such as functionality, ergonomics, engineering, presentation, innovation, usability, sustainability and technology, with score normalization applied to remove biases. Awards are conferred at Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron levels. The A' Design Prize granted to eligible laureates includes the award trophy, the certificate of design excellence, the hardcover yearbook, a lifetime license to use the A' Design Award winner logo, exhibition of awarded works, an invitation to the gala night and award ceremony in Italy, inclusion in the World Design Rankings and Designer Rankings, and public relations and publicity services. Registration, the upload of a work and the preliminary score are free of charge, and Professional and Digital Edition laureates are not contractually obliged to pay further fees to claim the A' Design Prize. Design Details
- Unique Properties
- Through the visualization of wind turbine models and data graphs, we can quickly pinpoint the fault in wind turbines and efficiently safeguard the operations and maintenance process. Through the “drag and drop” data and model settings, we can meet the custom settings of “same type and same module” and “multiple types and multiple modules” from various machine learning models to hone targeted operations and maintenance trouble-shooting capabilities.
- Inspiration
- The system is an intelligent operation solution for renewable energy scenarios based on the digital base of Industrial IoT and the prediction capability of machine learning models. It provides decision support for the wind farm's intelligent operation and maintenance, turbine start/stop, and fault analysis. The system provides manageability for power generation capacity and allows stable and continuous output through intelligent, decision-driven solutions.
- Research
- It addresses user pain points of high manual operations and maintenance costs and improves operations and maintenance personnel safety and efficiency.
- Challenge
- It also enables more effective use of wind resources and contributes to the global governance effort to combat climate change.
- Realization and Technology
- Using 3D visualization modeling, virtual simulation, surveillance visualization, and other technical means, we intelligently display the physical reality space in the digital system, provide interpretable and traceable machine learning capabilities, and simulate the logic behind users’ real interactive operations in the physical world. Our solution enables enterprise customers to receive fault warnings (on average) 20 minutes earlier, and the overall model accuracy rate has reached 81%.
