Design Details
- Unique Properties
- This shopper was meticulously crafted to complement the packaging of the corresponding wristwatch. The design concept ingeniously recreates the A logo of the watch by merging the bag graphics with its handle. When the customer holds the bag, the fabric ribbon extends, forming the upper part of the A. Combined with the printed lower half, the complete logo is revealed, cleverly showcasing the brand in a dynamic, engaging manner.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration was drawn directly from the logo of the brand, with the letter A serving as a central element. As the first letter of the Western alphabet, A signifies new beginnings and stands as a universal symbol of excellence, perfectly aligning with the brand identity and aspirations.
- Research
- After studying paper shopping bags for other brands, I developed the concept of engaging customers in promoting the product logo. Once the idea was sketched, I conducted extensive tests with various samples to achieve precise alignment between the graphics and the length of the handle. A renowned Italian luxury packaging company, with two generations of expertise, digitally rendered and took on the project. We also experimented with multiple stamping techniques.
- Challenge
- The primary challenge was to achieve precise alignment between the graphics of the shopper and the ribbon height, as to showcase effectively the A logo while maintaining carriage functionality and user-friendliness. Additionally, matching the exact brand color was difficult due to the large coverage area, the sensitivity of the paper material, and the hue of the color, requiring careful experimentation and adjustment throughout the process.
- Realization and Technology
- Following its conceptualization, the shopper was first sketched, then a paper prototype was crafted to assess handle length—a crucial factor for branding impact. The design was digitized, and multiple samples were produced. Rigorous testing with stamping techniques was conducted to achieve the distinct Tyrrenian Bordeaux logo color and the titanium-inspired gray background, reflecting the titanium elements of the watch.
- Operation and Interaction
- The Kratistos shopping bag not only serves its function as packaging but also reflects the creativity and diversity of the brand through its unique design. By integrating the graphics and ribbon to form the iconic A logo, the bag becomes a strategic branding tool, effectively elevating it beyond conventional packaging and actively promoting the brand wherever it is carried.
- Project Duration and Location
- This project started in June 2024 in Athens, Greece and was completed in February 2025 in Alessandria, Italy.
- Specifications
- Shopper Dimensions: Length 330mm x Width 220 mm x Height 300 mm. Weight 250gr. At the points of written details, the paper is satin opaque. Hot stamping method. Japanese type closure. Fabric handles in gros grain 2 pieces, height of 50 mm x 50mm, matching color with the inside part of the shopping bag.
