About Irises Δαχτυλίδι

Το Irises είναι ένα διπλό δαχτυλίδι εμπνευσμένο από έναν πίνακα του Vincent van Gogh. Ο πίνακας απεικονίζει μπλε λουλούδια με μακριά, ξιφοειδή φύλλα. Στο δαχτυλίδι, τα λουλούδια αναπαρίστανται με μπλε ζαφείρι και τοπάζια London και sky, ενώ σκαλιστός χρυσός σχηματίζει τα φύλλα σε κίνηση. Το δαχτυλίδι είναι κατασκευασμένο στο χέρι από χρυσό 18 καρατίων, με ματ φινίρισμα και δέσιμο με νύχια (prong settings). Το κόσμημα είναι ελαφρύ και άνετο στη χρήση. Στόχος είναι να μεταφερθούν τα χρώματα και οι φόρμες της φύσης και της ζωγραφικής σε ένα φορέσιμο αντικείμενο.

Unique Properties: Van Gogh’s irises have blue flowers with sword shaped leaves that are long and laminar. The flowers are represented in this double ring by sapphires and topazes while the sculptured gold conveys the leaves in their movement. The double ring is both comfortable and stunning!

Handmade, matte finish and prong setting
Design Challenge: During the search for the idealized materials, some types of gemstones were not located and some cut formats were unavailable. The acquisition of gemstones in other formats and types was carried out and a new design was performed adapting to the materials found.
Research: After extensive research on Van Gogh's paintings (there are almost 2000 works), the painting was chosen that would be the inspiration for the design. Then research was carried out on the painted tree (understanding of what the painter saw to be inspired). Realized the ideal design of the piece and choice of the ideal materials for execution.
